Unable to become a fashion designer due to family circumstances, Khadija went for a mass media course banking on her natural writing and leadership skills. She is also a part time henna artist.

Khadija Habib is a Media Manager at Inspiro Management & Consultancy, Udaipur.

Recalling her childhood, Khadija says she was born and brought up in Udaipur. Since her childhood, she had been actively participating in school events, where she always opted to be the  leader. She always took on the mantle of leadership whenever an opportunity arose.

Khadija completed her schooling from St. Gregorios Senior Secondary School. She had always wanted to become a fashion designer but could not appear for the entrance exams owing to some personal reasons. She then explored further and realised that she could pursue mass communication due to her affinity towards writing.

After a lot of research and exploration, Khadija enrolled for a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Media in Mumbai and is now currently pursuing the course.

Growing up, she says she missed her mother’s love during childhood because her mother was too busy with work. However, due to the fact that both her parents worked full-time jobs, she learned to be independent at a young age.

The COVID pandemic brought about professional challenges for her. Moreover, adapting to the new methods of client dealing and online meetings was an additional learning experience, albeit a bit strenuous in the beginning, according to her. However, Khadija saw this as an opportunity for the betterment of her personality. On a personal note, she enjoyed spending time with her family during the lockdown.

When asked about her role models, Khadija says her mother is her inspiration. She learned everything from her mother, from small chores to studying to receiving the initial inspiration from her to pursue her dream. Her mother had to face many struggles in her life, and her life’s story inspires and motivates Khadija to follow  her mother’s footsteps.

Her professional mentors are her own elder brother and a senior named Dheeraj. They motivated  and guided her with the required guidance.

Talking about her struggles, Khadija says that when she was in tenth grade she was diagnosed with a disease due to which all her friends maintained a distance from her. Due to the absence of companionship in the eleventh and twelfth grades, she was depressed at the time. She struggled a lot to face that time but that phase made her strong. When she was in Mumbai, she used to go to the sea and write to overcome her loneliness.

Khadija likes listening to music and watching movies. She also loves exploring hotels on outings with her friends.. She also likes to travel a lot and her dream is to visit every city in the country along with other countries globally.

According to Khadija, education is necessary as it creates a foundation. On the other hand, experience, good or bad, teaches us many valuable lessons along the way.

Sharing her views about leadership, Khadija says that some are born leaders who have the skills to manage the team effectively and take radical decisions. Leaders need to take initiative in every decision. Leadership qualities can be developed over time, but not perfectly, according to her.

On a concluding note, Khadija tells us not to listen to the negative voices around us; just keep doing our own thing, and we will succeed eventually.
