There is no end to learning.
There is no end to learning.
Ketan Shah is the Chairman of Sheetal Academy Pvt. Ltd.
Since starting his business 33 years ago in Dombivali, Ketan has grown his organization to over 221 locations in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Nepal. More than 1200 educators, all committed to assisting pupils, work for him. They begin teaching English to the pupils in their native tongue, concentrating initially on helping them understand the language.
Looking back on his early years, Ketan says he can still clearly recall how his teacher in school distinguished between creativity and discovery, a lesson he believes is still relevant to this day. In his view, education should also focus on developing students' critical thinking and curiosity rather than only teaching them information. He also expresses gratitude to his professors, whose unwavering guidance and inspiration motivated him.
The well-known song "Kahan tak yeh man ke andhere chhalenge, Udasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge'' is one he says he likes to listen to. He is inspired by these words, which also serve as a reminder to maintain optimism in the face of adversity.
Ketan explains that although he was proficient in both Gujarati and English, his students came from diverse linguistic origins. He used to get anxious and confused about how to interact with his classmates when he was seventeen years old. But instead of letting this depress him, he committed himself to learning their languages and coming up with inventive solutions to close the communication gap by telling them short stories to help them comprehend linguistic ideas. Ketan gained confidence in his teaching skills and a thorough awareness of the range of demands of his students as he gained experience with time.
According to Ketan, he was repeatedly offered an honorary PhD degree but he turned them down. He thinks his PhD is his collection of knowledge. In addition, he has won accolades from a number of organizations for his work in the field of education. However, he believes that his structured approach to English teaching is his greatest accomplishment.
Ketan counsels young people to never stop learning new things and to never stop pursuing knowledge. He says it will improve their English significantly if they comprehend and commit to memory every new term they encounter with an example.
In addition, he exhorts educators to include fresh ideas into their pedagogy, since this may significantly enhance the educational journey of their pupils. He advises the aspiring educators that change is inevitable and that they should never stop learning and growing. He underlines how crucial it is for students to keep up with the most recent teaching strategies and tactics in addition to consistently increasing their subject-matter expertise.
Ketan states that formal education comes from formal educational institutions like schools, colleges and informal education comes from living. In his view, informal education is more important as it offers experiences in the real world and useful skills that cannot be acquired in a classroom. He feels that the secret to growing into a well-rounded and productive professional is to integrate academic and informal education.
Ketan believes that everyone should have a global perspective, interact with everyone, and always be on the lookout for new chances to learn and grow. He highlights how networking and establishing relationships with individuals from different backgrounds are crucial for expanding one's horizons and creating new opportunities.
