As its director, Ketan Jain has led the Mikado Group of Schools’s growth from mere 13 to over 1,800 students. With a focus on holistic education, he emphasizes personalized learning, and promotes sports and extracurricular activities. Jain’s philosophy revolves around inclusivity, sustainable development, and a balanced approach to growth.

Ketan Jain is the Co-founder and Director of the Mikado Group of Schools, a prominent educational organization in Udaipur. Under his leadership, the group runs three schools located in Shobhagpura, and Hiran Magri Sector-3 and Sector-14 in Udaipur. His primary responsibility lies in providing strategic direction to the schools and ensuring the seamless management of all the three institutions.

Jain works closely with the dedicated teams at each school, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence. His efforts are aimed at upholding high educational standards and driving the overall growth and success of the Mikado Group of Schools.

Jain says the primary USP of the group lies in its commitment to providing personalized attention to each student, ensuring their holistic development. All the three schools of the group embody the true spirit of nurturing young minds by fostering an environment that prioritizes individual growth and learning.

A key feature of the schools is their balanced curriculum, which seamlessly integrates academics with extracurricular activities. This comprehensive approach allows students to excel academically while also developing their skills, talents, and personalities in a well-rounded manner. By emphasizing both intellectual and creative growth, the schools ensure that students are prepared to thrive in all aspects of life.

Ketan Jain proudly shares the inspiring journey of the Mikado Group of Schools, which was founded in 2013 with just 13 students and three staff members. Over the past 11 years, through dedication and unwavering commitment, the institution has grown exponentially.

Today, the Mikado Group of Schools is home to more than 1,800 students and a team of nearly 150 staff members, a testament to its success and the trust it has earned from the community. This remarkable growth reflects not only the institution's quality of education but also Ketan Jain's visionary leadership and dedication to nurturing young minds.

Jain emphasizes the importance of extracurricular activities which are regularly done at the Mikado Group of Schools, highlighting their strong focus on physical activities and sports. The schools offer a diverse range of options, including popular sports like cricket, football and yoga, alongside traditional Indian games such as kho-kho, kabaddi, and gola-fenk.

In addition to sports, students are encouraged to explore their creative interests through training in activities like skating, dance, and more. This well-rounded approach provides students with ample opportunities to discover their passions and develop their talents, fostering overall growth and preparing them to excel in various areas of life.

Apart from its strong focus on academics and extracurricular activities, the Mikado Group of Schools offers a variety of co-curricular programs to ensure holistic development. The institution follows a nationally recognized curriculum, complemented by year-round activity-based learning designed to make education enjoyable and engaging for students.

Ketan Jain highlights that the schools stand out for organizing four major annual events: the Annual Function, the Annual Sports Day, the Science Exhibition, and the Fete. These grand events attract gatherings of 4,000 to 5,000 people each year, showcasing the school’s ability to successfully manage large-scale events with precision and dedication.

What truly sets Mikado apart is its commitment to inclusivity, as every student gets the opportunity to participate in all four events. This not only builds confidence but also fosters creativity and teamwork, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience for all students.

When asked about his achievements, Ketan Jain humbly shares that the accomplishments of his students are his true achievements. He takes immense pride in the fact that students from Mikado Group of Schools excel at state and national levels in activities such as Skating and Yoga, often bringing home medals. Additionally, their participation and success in academic competitions like Olympiads are milestones he cherishes as his own.

Managing and nurturing this vibrant community of nearly 2,000 individuals on a daily basis is, for him, a significant accomplishment. Jain emphasizes that creating an environment where students and staff can achieve their best is the essence of his success.

Ketan Jain shares some of his personal milestones with pride. He was the Udaipur topper in his 12th-grade examinations, an achievement that laid a strong foundation for his outstanding academic journey. Remarkably, he completed his Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification at the young age of 21, demonstrating exceptional dedication and hard work.

In his professional career, Jain has steered the Mikado Group of Schools to great heights. The school is among the select few in Udaipur to have earned the prestigious Cambridge International affiliation, a testament to its commitment to global standards in education. Additionally, he plans to apply for CBSE 12th-grade affiliation for one of the school branches in the near future, further expanding the opportunities available to students. These accomplishments reflect his vision and dedication to academic excellence.

Talking about his inspiration in the field of education, Ketan Jain shares that his journey began while he was pursuing Chartered Accountancy. During that time, he provided coaching in Direct Tax to a few students. It was through this experience that he realized the importance of fostering a child's development from the very foundation.

He observed that to truly make a meaningful impact on a child's growth, one must work at the grassroots level. This realization became the driving force behind his decision to enter the field of school education. His vision was to contribute to the holistic development of children by shaping their educational journey from an early age.

Ketan Jain recalls his early life and educational journey with great pride. He completed his primary education at Vidya Niketan School, where he developed a strong sense of patriotism and moral values. He fondly recalls how lessons about India’s great leaders and the spirit of nationalism were deeply instilled in students there, shaping his “country-first” attitude at a young age.

For his secondary education, he attended Guru Nanak School, followed by Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School for higher secondary studies. Excelling academically, he scored 80% in the RBSE board in 12th grade—a pivotal moment in his life. After completing 12th, Ketan realized that pursuing a professional degree would require transitioning from his Hindi-medium background to English-medium studies, a significant challenge at the time due to the stark difference between the two. Determined to succeed, he overcame his psychological fears, cleared the CA Foundation exam on his first attempt, and subsequently passed the Intermediate level.

For the mandatory three-year articleship in Chartered Accountancy, Jain moved to Mumbai, where he trained at Chaturvedi & Shah, one of India’s most renowned CA firms. This experience not only honed his professional skills but also exposed him to a diverse and dynamic work environment. After completing his articleship, he returned to Udaipur with a keen interest in furthering his education. Over the next four to five years, he earned additional qualifications, including CS, LLB, and M.Com, broadening his academic and professional horizons.

Throughout his journey, Ketan Jain faced numerous challenges but remained resilient. He credits his growth to the invaluable lessons learned from meeting diverse people, adapting to new environments, and continually overcoming obstacles. This determination and passion ultimately laid the foundation for his successful career in the education sector.

He draws inspiration from two remarkable individuals who have significantly shaped his outlook on life: Acharya Vidyasagar, his spiritual role model, and Ratan Tata, whom he deeply respects and follows for career guidance.

From Acharya Vidyasagar, Ketan has learned the essence of spiritual commitment and leading a life of integrity. Career-wise, he admires Ratan Tata for his extraordinary achievements and unwavering principles. Ketan is inspired by how both these icons balanced their immense talents and success with impeccable character, earning admiration not just from their respective fields but also from the world at large.

He reflects on their lives, noting how they faced numerous challenges and highs and lows without ever compromising their values or losing focus. Their dedication, resilience, and ability to remain committed to their goals resonate deeply with him. Ketan is particularly moved by their tireless work ethic, emphasizing that even in their later years, both were as hardworking and focused as they were in their youth. Their lives continue to inspire him to stay committed, focused, and principled in every endeavor.

Ketan Jain finds profound inspiration in two quotes that resonate deeply with his values and outlook on life.

The first quote,

"हम अपने कल से बेहतर बनें"

(Let us become better than we were yesterday),

encourages continuous self-improvement. Ketan believes that striving for personal betterment keeps us motivated and focused, fostering growth and resilience in all aspects of life.

The second quote,

"वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्" (The world is one family),

holds a special place in his heart for its message of inclusivity and respect. He explains that embracing the Earth and nature as part of our family—just as we care for and respect our children and parents—can solve numerous global conflicts. This philosophy inspires him to approach the world with kindness, empathy, and responsibility, ensuring that neither the planet nor its resources are exploited or disrespected.

These quotes serve as guiding principles for Ketan, shaping his vision and actions toward building a better, more harmonious world.

To new aspirants to the world of teaching, Ketan Jain advises approaching education as a form of service. He believes education is not merely a profession but a commitment to shaping individuals' futures. By "service," he emphasizes that if a student completes their education at your institution, they should emerge truly educated in the real sense. Therefore, the focus should always be on the holistic development of your students. Jain encourages aspiring educators to set their goals around what they can do to nurture and develop each child who comes to them.

To students, his advice is to embrace and adopt the values of Indian culture and civilization. He believes that by grounding themselves in these timeless principles, students will be well-equipped to navigate both personal and professional challenges throughout their lives.

The Mikado Group of Schools is a family of 2,200 students and staff across its three branches. Recently, the Shobhagpura campus underwent a complete reconstruction to enhance facilities. Additionally, a new structure with around 100 rooms is under development at the Sector-14 branch. Once completed, this will be the largest school in South Udaipur, accommodating 2,500 to 3,000 students while maintaining an optimal teacher-student ratio.

The administrative offices at all three branches—Sector-3, Sector-14, and Shobhagpura—remain open from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM on all working days. Parents and guardians are welcome to visit during these hours to learn more about the school.

For further details, you can visit the school's website at Mikadoeducation.com or follow their official pages on Facebook and Instagram under the name "Mikado Group of Schools." The schools are also easily locatable on Google Maps.

Jain encourages everyone to visit any of their campuses, explore the facilities, and then make an informed decision about your child’s education. Currently, the schools offer classes up to Grade 8. However, in the next 2-3 years, with CBSE affiliation, Mikado aims to expand its offerings up to Grade 12.

Ketan Jain emphasizes that as parents, we have become overly conscious about our children. His general advice is to avoid excessive concern over every aspect of their lives and allow things to evolve naturally. Over-consciousness and overly strict rules often hinder a child’s proper development.

He suggests that parents should give their children the organic time they need to grow and make a dedicated effort to spend quality time with them despite busy schedules. Instead of being overly controlling, parents should only channel their child’s energy in the right direction and guide them positively.

Ketan Jain also stresses the importance of trusting your child’s teachers and the school principal. He believes that parents should have confidence in these individuals, as they play a crucial role in shaping their child’s future. A balanced approach, rooted in trust and understanding, is key to ensuring the right development of children.

He advises that our career approach should be grounded in the idea that the entire Earth is our family. This should be our focus as we work towards sustainable development. He believes we should evolve businesses and professions in such a way that we view the entire planet as our family, advancing with sustainability at the forefront.

Jain emphasizes the importance of ensuring that as we grow, we don’t cause harm to others. If we are progressing, others should also have the opportunity to grow alongside us, without exploitation. This balanced approach should be the guiding principle in both personal and professional endeavors, particularly when working towards commercial goals.
