Ketaki Jani is an Alopecian (hairless) Model and works for Alopecia awareness. Along with this, she is also working as a special officer at Maharashtra Rajya Pathyapustak Mandal.
Ketaki was born and brought up in Ahmedabad but her workplace is in Maharashtra. After completing her studies, she shifted to Pune to get a job.
Recalling her childhood, Ketaki says that she spent her childhood in the Kalupur area of Ahmedabad. She was raised at her maternals’ house. She faced many challenges in her childhood.
Talking about her journey, Ketaki says that she faced many struggles and hardships and fought in every step of her life. Initially, she started her journey by making textbooks, as she had been interested in reading since childhood. She is happy with herself and feels that she has achieved a special aim in life.
When asked about her challenges, Ketaki says that her life was full of struggles until she was 40. At the age of 40, she had all the happiness in life in the form of her husband, a good job, and her kids.
But, unfortunately , she suffered from alopecia, a disease which causes hair loss, which again created many hurdles in her path. From 2010 to 2014, she was depressed due to alopecia and wanted to end her life. Then she reflected on her situation, thought about her kids, and decided to start working on alopecia awareness. She started spreading awareness among people about alopecia with the help of different mediums like interviews, blogs, Facebook, etc. She participated in beauty contests, including Mrs. Universe, and did ramp walks to break the stereotypes related to beauty prevalent in society.
Ketaki’s life mantra is to love yourself. She believes that your life is your responsibility.
