After going through a lot of struggle to sustain himself, Kesar cleared the Rajasthan Police exam in his first attempt. Working as a police constable, he aspires to become a deputy superintendent of police and works hard for it.

Kesar Singh Devda is a police constable at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Udaipur. He aspires to become a DySP in future .

Kesar is from Adwas, a small village located in Udaipur's Sarada tehsil. He had done his complete schooling from Adwas itself. He then came to Udaipur to pursue higher education.

When he reflects on his early childhood days , he recalls taking herds of goats for grazing in his village. Additionally, he used to have fun blowing the horn with his mouth, letting everyone know that the car belonged to his father.

Kesar's life battles began the moment he arrived in Udaipur. He claims that  even finding his way to the University in Udaipur was challenging for him. Following his acceptance into one of the universities, he moved in to live with his uncle in Udaipur. He used to ride his bicycle to college and study in the library while the other students teased him. However, Kesar persisted because he was clear that he wanted to achieve his desired goals and achieve success.

In order to supplement his income, he began catering for weddings during his third year and shifted to a bike from a  bicycle. In addition, he ran for and won the university students union elections. During his B.Ed., he began anchoring programmes on the campus, when devotional singer Shoor Veer Kotra noticed him. Kesar used to accompany Shoor Veer on trips and give performances in order to meet his daily financial needs. He applied for the Rajasthan Police Service in 2016 and was chosen in his first attempt. He spent eleven and a half months in Jaipur undergoing rigorous training. He believes it's all about giving back to society without expecting anything in return.

His mentor at the Chanakya Coaching Classes in Udaipur serves as his primary source of motivation in life. He claims that he used to inspire him to put in more effort and give it his all. On one occasion, he gave him a hundred rupees for Diwali and instructed him to buy books and stationery for studies instead of firecrackers. Kesar’s professor also told him that  he would get firecrackers after  he passed the exams.

Kesar emphasises that having a strong sense of drive and a desire for working for society is crucial for young people wishing to pursue careers in his area. In order to pass the examinations, he believes they must be extremely strong—mentally and physically—and patriotic. If they are chosen, they should be aware that they are unique as Rajasthan Administrative Services only chooses a small number of candidates per year from a large pool of applicants. The khaki outfit they would wear would become a sign of their labour, therefore they should have faith in themselves.

According to Kesar, experience is more significant than education in his line of work.  An inspector may be more qualified than the constable but when the inspector takes charge of a new station, he also has to consult the contable for updates and the working culture there.

In his spare time, Kesar likes to read poetry and listen to ghazals. In addition, he writes quotes in his spare time and anchors in mahila sangeets and other events.  He also likes to spend time with his family.

If he could go back in  time via a time machine, Kesar would like to become an  IPS officer. He is now completing his coursework and has high hopes of succeeding in the future to take over as a deputy superintendent of police.

Kesar ends by stating that challenges are what make life what it is. In order to succeed, we need not be afraid of the challenges and instead face them actively.
