Kedar Chaudhary is the founder of Manav Vikas and Kalyan Sansthan in Jaipur. He has been working in the social field through his NGO. He has worked for the education of poor children, the environment, helpless elderly people, and in many other fields.
Describing his journey, Kedar says that twenty years ago, looking at the problems elderly people were facing with their pension plans and other issues, he and his friends decided to help them. Because of Kedar and his friends' efforts, more than 450 elderly people in his region got benefits and started receiving their pensions on time.
Kedar, along with his friends, founded the Manav Vikas Evam Geographical Research Organization to work on the education of poor children in a madaari colony near his residence. They established a night school for these children and encouraged 1500 dropouts to continue their education at an open school. Kedar also assisted them in passing the 10th and 12th classes.
With the efforts of him and his friends, his NGO gradually started working against domestic violence, spreading awareness for water conservation, tree plantations, and many other social and environmental causes. They organized workshops, campaigns, and awareness programs to engage the community and create a positive impact with the help of Rashtriya Paryavaran Jagrukta Abhiyan of the Government of India. Kedar's organization also promoted and established rainwater harvesting systems in more than 200 houses.
During the COVID pandemic, Kedar and his organization helped people by distributing food packets, medicines, sanitizers, and masks. Additionally, Kedar's organization collaborated with local authorities to set up quarantine centers and provide medical assistance to those in need.
Speaking about his challenges and problems, Kedar says that when you want to do something good for society and want to bring about change, there will always be hurdles and challenges. Initially, when he wanted to rescue the child laborers and encourage them to opt for education, he and his friends had to face a lot of resistance and opposition from the community. He had to overcome many obstacles and challenges to achieve his goal. He says that sometimes finance becomes a challenge, but with the help of local people, he is able to overcome it. He also receives help from other small NGOs and groups.
When asked about his inspiration, Kedar says that after completing his education, he realized that he wanted to make a difference in his community. To follow his dreams, his friend from Sambhar, who runs a reputed NGO in the area, encouraged him to start working towards the welfare of society. Inspired by the impact his friend was making, Kedar decided to take the leap and establish his own NGO to address the pressing issues in his community. With his friend's guidance and support, Kedar embarked on this challenging yet fulfilling journey of transforming lives and creating a positive change in his community.
Sharing his thoughts on leadership, Kedar says that since his childhood, he has always wanted to be a leader who could make a positive impact on society. He always knew that if he wanted to achieve his goal, he had to get along with people and work for them. He believes that being a leader is not just about having power but also about serving others and making a difference in their lives.
Kedar says education and experience are both crucial in life and have different places. He also believes that experience comes with time and cannot be substituted by education alone. He emphasizes the importance of learning from real-life situations and challenges, as they provide valuable lessons that cannot be taught in a classroom. Kedar believes that combining education with practical experience is the key to becoming an effective leader who can understand and address the needs of others.
When asked about his hobbies, he says he reads a lot and has a lot of interest in meeting people and doing social work. Kedar finds great fulfillment in engaging with diverse individuals and communities through his social work endeavors.
Kedar advises everyone that, apart from earning their livelihood, we must all work for the benefit of society and our country. We must rise above the feelings of caste and community and only work for the betterment of society.
