Kavya is twenty-six years old and belongs to Hyderabad. She has been working as a Grade Two Software Engineer in Slack for the last four months. Before this, she worked at Modelon and has five years of experience as a Full Stack Developer. She completed her graduation from Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University in Computer Science Engineering as a major.
Kavya started as a Backend Engineer and took up the work of Frontend engineers and other data-based work. Gradually, she pulled up her capabilities to work as a full-stack engineer.
Kavya loves her profession as she used to love exploring different things on the internet from a young age. Her love for computers, social media, and computer games motivated her to choose Computer Science Engineering. Furthermore, Kavya developed an interest in business when she was in her second year of Engineering. She loved exploring business ideas and the concept of Sales. Moreover, articles, blogs, and newsletters about interesting business ideas and success stories intrigued her to start her own business.
Kavya says that in the software industry, learning and updating oneself is a never-ending process. One has to be updated with new technology, infrastructure, and Cloud computing. This process of constant learning makes a person last longer in the software industry.
Kavya believes that one must not stress about making mistakes. Mistakes and failures are a part of everyday life. Specifically, in her career, there is the process of rectification by the reviewers that helps the newcomers avoid certain mistakes. However, she thinks that while doing business, decisions affect sales and marketing. Thus, one must learn to make proper investments.
Kavya has two role models in life who gave her the zeal to move ahead in her business. First is, Varun Agarwal, the CEO of an E-Commerce brand known as Alma Mater. He is the one who triggered her interest in the business. She learned that when something interests you, you should do it in parts. Thus, Kavya started her clothing label with the name ‘The 20 India’ and is successfully running it. Secondly, a well-known Hyderabadi Designer, Divya Reddy and her approach to designing inspired Kavya. Divya’s sustainability clothing business to uplift the community and her idea of engaging women prison inmates to stitch the clothes for her fascinates Kavya.
Kavya feels that the power to balance her profession and business simultaneously with to-do lists, punctuality, correct decision-making, and slow-paced investments, has given her success up till now.
