Kaviraj Laique is an actor and a theater practitioner who belongs to Udaipur, Rajasthan. He currently resides in Mumbai.
Recalling his childhood, Kaviraj says that he started acting when he was just a two-year-old kid. His father is also from the same profession and an alumnus of the National School of Drama. Kaviraj started his acting career with his father as a hobby. Kaviraj continued doing theater in his school days with the dream of becoming a cricketer at the same time. He also received many scholarships but never imagined acting as his career at that time.
Kaviraj did his graduation in theater from MS University in Baroda. Thereafter, he carried on his journey at the National School of Drama, where he learnt every aspect of acting and directing.
Speaking about his struggles, Kaviraj says that the basic challenge was to establish himself as an actor and survive in the film industry. He adds that finding the right person who sees the talent in you takes a lot of time. Kaviraj shares that in his early days, he had to work free of charge before he could establish himself in the industry. The toughest call for him was to deny a big production house owing to his prior commitment to a theater show he had promised.
Sharing his pandemic experience, Kaviraj says that COVID made us all realize the importance of our family and relationships. He adds that people also realized the importance of keeping their surroundings clean.
Describing his achievements, Kaviraj shares that being selected for the National School of Drama was the biggest accomplishment for him, which also made his parents proud.
When asked about his role models, Kaviraj says he considers his father as his pillar of strength. He has also had a few mentors from his alma mater, the National School of Drama. Living his character role and being in his costume is what Kaviraj truly relishes about his profession.
When asked about his thoughts on education v/s experience, Kaviraj says that while education is primary, experience gives you the strength to tackle any situation in life.
Kaviraj advises the youth to focus on themselves and take enough time to decide on their career path. He advises aspiring actors to study, polish themselves and indulge in a lot of theater and short films. Kaviraj advises them to have a mentor and practise on a daily basis.
Talking about leadership qualities, Kaviraj says that he was always in leadership roles from the beginning.
If Kaviraj could go back in a Time Machine, he would join the Indian Army.
Besides acting, Kaviraj is a dog lover and also likes to swim. In his free time, Kaviraj likes to watch movies, play cricket, listen to music, and delve into adventure sports.
