A Kathak dancer, Kaumudi believes that classical dance forms connect us with our Indian roots and culture. She feels that Kathak balances a perfect coordination between mind and body.

Kaumudi Mohale is a Kathak dancer in Udaipur.

Kaumudi shares that she is pursuing a BA in Kathak and Journalism. She had been interested in Kathak dance since childhood. She got inspiration from the other artists while seeing them perform. She says that in Kathak, people narrate stories by using different ‘mudras’. She is learning Kathak at Kathak Ashram under the guidance of her guru, Chandrakala Choudhary.

Sharing her achievements, Kaumudi says that learning Kathak is an accomplishment for her. Her guru gave her a chance to perform on various stages, and she got the opportunity to meet new people.

Kaumudi’s role model is her mother, who is a teacher, and guides her at every step. She wants to become a working lady like her mother.

Kaumudi advises the young generation to learn Kathak, as it is a classical dance form that broadens their thoughts and connects them to their roots.

कौमुदी ने बताया कि वह कथक और पत्रकारिता में बीए कर रही हैं। उन्हें बचपन से ही कथक नृत्य में रुचि थी। उन्हें अन्य कलाकारों का प्रदर्शन देखकर प्रेरणा मिली। वह कहती हैं कि कथक में लोग अलग-अलग मुद्राओं का इस्तेमाल करके कहानियां सुनाते हैं। वह अपनी गुरु चंद्रकला चौधरी के मार्गदर्शन में कथक आश्रम में कथक सीख रही हैं।

अपनी उपलब्धियों को साझा करते हुए कौमुदी कहती हैं कि कथक सीखना उनके लिए एक उपलब्धि है। उनके गुरु ने उन्हें विभिन्न मंचों पर प्रदर्शन करने का मौका दिया और उन्हें नए लोगों से मिलने का अवसर मिला।
