Born and brought up in Udaipur, Karan Singh Kataria received his entire formal education in Udaipur itself. After completing his schooling, he did B.Sc. from MB College and then M.Com. as a private candidate.
Karan was just two years old when his father passed away. He left behind six of Karan’s siblings and his mother and grandmother to be taken care of in the family. There was no earning member in the family after his father and it was a tough time for the family to survive. But they did not surrender to tough times and instead faced them head-on and today he is well settled in his life.
Talking about his professional career, he shares that after completing his B.Sc., he worked with the Bank of Rajasthan for 26 years and when the bank was merged with the ICICI Bank, he worked with it. He took VRS as a Deputy Manager after serving for thirty-three years in the banking industry. Currently, he is working as an Agency Manager with Exide Life Insurance in Udaipur.
Karan was always interested in singing and acting. He would always keep the vibe around him positive to keep the people around him happy. Even at college, he would participate in cultural nights and sing songs, crack jokes, etc.
Besides his job he understands his bit toward society and is associated with Bharat Vikas Parishad and the All India Customers’ Committee. He always tries to raise voices for public grievances with regard to their basic necessities.
He believes in always remaining happy in every situation and helping others and this is his life mantra too.
Talking about struggles in his life, Karan shares that when his father passed away, his family had to struggle on the financial front. He would write on paper thrown away by others. Sometimes, arranging for ration for the family was also a challenge. But today he is content with his life as he is well settled and has everything that he needs.
During the Covid pandemic, he and his wife contracted the virus. But instead of losing hope, they did yoga and took all the medications, and were able to beat the virus. Besides, he also distributed food packets and masks to the people in need during the pandemic.
His message to people is to take some portion of their earnings out to help the needy.
