Karan Singh is a Caricature and Portrait Artist. He has been carrying out this profession for the past twenty years.
Karan belongs to Delhi. He did all his school and college education from Delhi itself.
Recalling his childhood, Karan says that art had been his passion and hobby since childhood. He never gave up on his art. He was very fond of sketching portraits.
Karan gave his hobby a professional form in the year 1998 by making live portraits of people on the streets. Gradually, he felt rewarded for his work and so he extended his working hours. While working there, he came to know about caricature. His creativity started paying off in caricature too and he started making great progress in this field of portrait and caricature sketching.
Regarding his COVID experience, Karan says that even when everything was closed during the pandemic, he made portraits of several people through online platforms.
Karan believes that it is very important to have a balance of education and experience in life. He says that neither one of the two could be ignored. Besides, you should be passionate about your work to be successful.
When Karan is not working, he listens to music which is one of his favorite hobbies. Apart from this, he enjoys canvas painting, meeting new people and listening to their life stories. He also loves to travel and enjoys spending time with kids. He is very fond of beauty, be it nature or humans. In addition, he is also fond of food and is inclined towards spirituality.
Karan believes that if you have a humorous mindset, you can do caricature very well. Further he says, to become a fine artist, you should have your own imagination with a strong observation and you have to practice a lot. He adds up by saying that to do so, first you need to have an understanding of portrait sketching. Only then you can compose a caricature by adding a tint of beauty to it.
Addressing everyone, Karan says that today’s era has become very competitive. In that scenario, it is important for you to recognize your extraordinary talent to set yourself apart from the crowd. Further he says that it doesn’t matter what degree you have, but how creative and productive you are, that matters the most.
Advising today’s generation, Karan tells them to recognize their talent and no matter what field you go into, make yourself creative. He says, try to be introverted and don’t run towards materialism. By doing this, all your qualities would start playing according to you and you would be able to achieve everything in life.
