Karan began working toward his dream of starting a company at a young age and, through his tenacity and dedication, built a prosperous business. He urges everyone to embrace technology and use it to expand their businesses.

Karan Garg is the CEO of IFW Techno Creations Pvt. Ltd., Udaipur.

Karan shares that it has been twenty years since he started his company when he was just in his first year of college, and today his company has a portfolio of more than a thousand clients all over India. They do website development, e-commerce projects, and digital marketing campaigns for their clients. They also work in the education sector and their ERP solution is being used in various schools and colleges all over India.

Karan elaborates that digital marketers concentrate on enhancing their clients' brands in order to increase their social media engagement. He believes that proper branding is crucial and should be carried out by a professional. Post-JIO and post-COVID, the higher internet penetration in every household has changed our lives. The entire ecosystem has been upended by the arrival of the AI wave, which is helpful in producing content for digital marketing in a quicker and more structured manner. He thinks we should embrace AI and use it to our advantage rather than being afraid of it.

As an IT and business growth consultant, Karan says that while many people launch new ventures these days, the biggest challenge they have is sustaining and expanding their companies over the long run. He emphasises how crucial strategists and consultants are in helping you recognize your mistakes. Additionally, he emphasises the value of technological solutions that may support internal operations, sales, marketing, human resources, branding, and social media presence. He asks aspiring companies to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and stay current in order to be competitive. He also suggests that they plan ahead, set goals in advance and discuss with colleagues the kind of sales revenue they hope to generate.

Recalling his early life, Karan says he was born in Ajmer. When he was four, his parents shifted to Udaipur. He did his schooling from St. Paul’s School, Udaipur and completed his graduation in commerce from B.N. College. He shares that he passed his 12th grade in Science from Kota but later realised that he was meant for commerce as he was more a people-person and practical in life, and gradually he got inclined towards doing business and started working to establish his own company.

Karan reveals that, being the son of a bank manager and a teacher, starting a business was difficult for him because of his service-class background. His parents weren't initially in favour of him, but after witnessing his enthusiasm and analytical approach, they changed their opinions. He feels that if we are not able to convince our parents, then how are we going to convince the world of our ideas?

Speaking of his achievements, Karan says that he built indigenous ERP solutions for the schools and colleges of India but has now reached universities across India, and more than ten lakh students are benefiting from their product. He is pleased to see how his product benefits and simplifies things for their customers.

When asked about his role models, Karan discloses that ten years ago, he considered Bill Gates and Dhiru Bhai Ambani as his role models. But today he gets inspired by many who are doing very well and have brought change to the industry through their work. He feels fascinated by the concepts of Cred and Zerodha. He is also motivated by the founder of Zomato, who has changed the spectrum of food deliveries all over the country. One quote that inspires him the most is, “There is no genius without the touch of madness.”

Karan advises anyone aspiring to launch their own company to be curious, updated, and interested in their field. He suggests identifying a problem faced by a large number of people that you can help solve through your products, and then you will be able to scale up your business and reach a maximum number of people. He urges everyone to only start a business when they have a clear idea of what they want to do, no matter how long it takes. He encourages the business owners to think big and think fast, as the world too is changing at a very fast pace and in order to be in business, you need to adapt to all the changes happening.

Karan believes that a leader is the one who has an agenda, and to achieve that agenda, they seek support from people. If you are determined to achieve that agenda, then naturally people will see you as a leader.
