Kapil Chhajed is the Manager and Founder at Dhunn - The Drum Circle. He belongs to Pune and did an M.Com.
When asked how he chose to be a musician, Kapil says that he deeply follows Indie Music. He says that once he saw Raghu Dixit perform in a concert, and from that day he got interested in Indie Music. Afterward, he joined an event management company with the plan to pursue music with the help of event management. Thereafter he met a band artist in Wassup Flea which is a flea market in Pune and joined The Aura band. After the Aura band split, he started another band Riyaaz with his friend for some time. And then finally after the split of Riyaaz, they formed The Drum Circle in 2018 and started performing and the journey still continues.
Kapil says that the lockdown affected the lives of many, but for him, the lockdown was quite amazing and he learned a lot during the lockdown period. He says that before COVID also he was into music, but during the pandemic time he realized that he wanted to pursue a career in the field of music full-time.
Talking about his achievements, Kapil says that getting appreciation and spreading happiness among people is the biggest achievement he would consider. He further says that it feels very good to leave his well-settled job and follow his passion.
Regarding the mistakes he has made in his life, Kapil says that he gets hyper quite easily and is very dominating. However, he is working on it and getting better.
Speaking about his role models, Kapil says that Devdutta Baji and Amit Trivedi inspire him a lot.
When asked how he formed his band, Kapil says that they found all the members of his band with each other’s references. He says that they share a good bond internally.
To deal with mental stress, he prefers sharing his thoughts with one of his team members, Preyas, and also listens to music sometimes.
Following the mantra “Go with the flow”, Kapil advises people not to take stress, to be confident of themselves, to think positively, and to keep working.
Kapil believes that music has changed his life to an extent. He says that his field has given them many opportunities to explore and be better with time.
When free, Kapil loves riding to different places.
To the budding aspirants to the music field, Kapil advises them not to stop despite the questions they face, and to keep exploring the field as much as they can.
