Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceuticals in the Faculty of Pharmacy at BN University. Besides, he is the Director of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell of the university alongwith performing the responsibility of the Public Relations Officer of the institution. He has been working in BN University since 2005. Initially he joined it as a faculty.
Dr. Kamal belongs to Devla village in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan. He says that his father was an Inspector in the Rajasthan Police. Due to most of his work in Chittorgarh and Rajsamand districts, they shifted to Chittorgarh. He did his schooling from Chittorgarh. He has been living in Udaipur for the last thirty years. He did his B.Pharm, M. Pharm and PhD from BN University. He did his MBA from FMS, Udaipur.
Recalling his childhood, Dr. Kamal says that he had always been a good student throughout. Even in college, he remained in the top five students of the class. Along with studies, he was good at sports and especially in cricket. He misses his childhood days a lot.
Talking about his role models, Dr. Kamal says he considers his father as his role model for him being a very strict, disciplined and an honest police officer. He draws inspiration from Swami Vivekanand too. In addition, he considers his Guruji Joshi Maharaj, Maharana Pratap, Subhash Chandra Bose, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar as his sources of inspiration.
Dr. Kamal says that during the COVID pandemic, when everything was in a terrible situation, all the businesses were also closed. In this situation, he also had to work from home and shifted his classes to the online platforms. Apart from this, he lost many of his family and fellow faculty members to COVID, which was quite devastating for him.
Expressing his views about leadership, Dr. Kamal says that he believes in empathic and participative leadership where he first himself takes an initiative and then proceeds further by involving his teammates in it. He believes in giving credits to people for their work and appreciates them in order to motivate them to work better.
If Dr. Kamal gets a chance to travel back in time through a Time Machine, he would like to relive his childhood with his friends.
In his spare time, he likes to listen to old songs, watch movies, sketch and play online chess tournaments. Besides this, he is also fond of writing and many of his articles and books have also been published. He also likes to be associated with his religion and participate in their activities along with being associated with Art of Living.
Dr. Kamal advises the young generation to decide your goals according to your interest and what you want to do in life. If you know your goal, you can work very hard towards achieving it with full energy. He says, try to do something for society, country and the environment as well.
