Kamal Singh Porwal is from Udaipur. He did his schooling from Vidya Bhawan Senior Secondary School. He then joined Science College, MLSU for his graduation and post-graduation.
Kamal says that his father wanted him to join their family business but Kamal wanted to do a fixed job. He got an opportunity in the Banking Industry and joined the SBI group in 1983.
After a long service, he retired on 31st August 2020 and is currently providing consultancy for investment and loan processing.
Kamal says that he was initially posted in a rural area and hence had to struggle a bit. He says that work stress was less at that time but the workload was much. The amenities that we have now were not available then. He worked on different profiles in the field of loan sanctioning and processing.
Kamal says that during the Covid pandemic they took all the precautions in their branch. From maintaining social distancing to sanitizing the area, they took care of everything.
Kamal feels that some people are born with Leadership qualities while others gain them through experience. He puts himself in the second category. Kamal has worked as a Secretary in the Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and learned to lead there. He also says that working in a bank also helped him develop these skills.
Kamal says that his inspiration and Role Model is his father. He has seen his father work hard all his life and he always wanted to be like him.
Kamal says that his Success Mantra in life is to follow a daily routine and to work with honesty and transparency.
Kamal advises the youth to work with dedication and hard work. They should respect their parents and always work under their blessings.
