A handicrafts store owner, Kalu Nath spent his whole childhood selling handicraft items but he now wants his children to be educated.

Kalu Nath Puri is the proprietor of Baba Ram Dev Handicraft in Pushkar. He has been working in this field for the past forty years. He was born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh.

Remembering his childhood, Kalu says he attended school till sixth class. He had spent all his childhood attending all the animal fairs held in Rajasthan.

Speaking about his hardships in life, Kalu says he has to make a lot of physical efforts to arrange all the things for his business when he takes part in fairs.

When asked about his inspiration, Kalu says inspiration generally comes from  your birthplace, but he gets it from his workplace, Rajasthan.

Speaking about his experience during the COVID period, Kalu says it affected his business for three years. For a whole three years there were no fairs held due to which he had no connection with anybody. But now from this year everything has picked up pace and his business too.

When asked whether education or experience is more important, Kalu says he thinks if a person is at least literate, then he can fulfil his basic life liabilities and understand the basics of his field. He says that because he has experienced hardships in his life, he does not want his children to go through the same, so he will educate them to put them in a better position in life.
