Jyottii was born and brought up in Delhi. She completed her musical training at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and from the Prayag University.
Recalling her childhood, Jyottii says that it was full of music. She started her journey in music at the age of seven and did stage performances at an early age. She completed her schooling in Faridabad and received her graduation from Delhi University. Her parents and elder sister always supported her to do better in life.
Talking about her journey, Jyottii shares that initially she was not interested in music, but her sister joined a musical group to learn music. She used to go with her sister, and slowly her interest developed in this field. Then she started giving stage performances and eventually felt that she couldn’t live without music, and it was a beautiful moment for her.
Accepting her mistakes, Jyottii says that she dropped her MA in Music because of her marriage which was a mistake, but she didn’t have any regrets for that. After marriage, she decided to continue her musical journey, so her husband supported her. Then she started her own music institute, and the graph of her new institute went up very smoothly. She feels that her institute is like a family for her, as she is connected with her students.
Sharing her achievements, Jyottii says that she won a prize in a singing reality show on the ETC Punjabi channel. Urban Pro.com named her institution the best in the Indian Classical Music category. She has twice judged Asia's greatest cultural festival, as well as the singing reality show ‘Bharat Ki Shaan’. She has shared stage with Jatin Pandit and Usha Uthup.
Jyottii’s role model is her elder sister, as she has always supported and encouraged her in the field of music. She also admires Lata Mangeshkar and follows her. She says that she could continue her journey in music after marriage because of her husband, who always motivates her.
Jyottii’s life mantra is to build a strong foundation.
Advising aspirants to her field, Jyottii says that it is important to learn under the guidance of a guru to train yourself in a beautiful manner. A guru is always helpful in rectifying the mistakes. Respect and believe in your parents, and learn to appreciate others, says Jyottii.
