Live in the present and enjoy it as it’s never going to come back.
Jitendra was born and raised in Udaipur. He lives here with his family. He is currently a dance teacher at a private school in Udaipur. He has done a master’s in commerce and is about to finish his M.A. in music.
Jitendra has been working in the entertainment industry for the past 14 years now. During his school days, he would dance and sing on various occasions and would often think of making a full-time career in the entertainment industry.
Jitendra shares an anecdote that, during his college days he got to attend a dance workshop conducted by a well-known choreographer. At the end of the workshop, he was given an award for the best dancer. This gave him a real morale boost and he kept continuing dancing and performing and now has established himself as a choreographer in Udaipur.
Talking about testing times in his life Jitendra says that an artist’s life is always full of struggles and the present pandemic has made it even tougher to sustain. This pandemic has hit the entire artisan community but he says - never give up no matter how hard the situation is.
Jitendra says that education and experiences in life are equally important. He also cites that there are many established artisans who despite having a poor educational background have done very well in their lives. But if someone wants a white-collar job then education is mandatory.
For someone who wants to be a choreographer, Jitendra advises that one must have an understanding of music. If one knows music and beats then one can be a good dancer.
If not a choreographer, Jitendra would want to join the Indian Army as his parents always wanted him to join the army.
During his free time, Jitendra likes to play with his kids and sing.
