After working in diverse sectors, Jitendra Singh ventured into career counselling and overseas education facilitation. Through 100+ seminars, his institute has impacted more than 25,000 students and counselled about 2,000 individuals personally. Under his leadership, JS Global has expanded to offer guidance for GRE, SAT, and IELTS. Their CSR initiatives extend free counselling to students in government schools, emphasising their commitment to inclusive education.

Jitendra Singh is the founder and CEO of JS Global - The Overseas Education Specialist.

He started his career with an FMCG company before moving into the pharmaceutical sector and later to the insurance sector. He has been associated with major companies like Dabur, Cadila, ICICI, and Birla Sun Life. For the last six years, he has been working in the education sector and has established JS Global- The Overseas Education Specialist. Here, they provide career counselling, and also visit schools, colleges, and universities to conduct career guidance seminars. They also offer individual career counselling for students and their parents, facilitate overseas education, and assist with the enrollment of students in different courses across 40 countries, handling all formalities from admission to student visas. Additionally, they prepare students for the GRE, SAT, PTE, Duolingo, and IELTS through online courses.

Jitendra Singh started from Ahmedabad. After working across the country, he decided to start his own venture in his hometown of Udaipur. He met Pradeep, his friend from Jodhpur, who worked in the foreign education department, and learned about the field from him. Jitendra says he always liked to do something challenging, which is evident in his diverse portfolio. He believes the education sector has a lot of potential. Recognising the need for guidance and support for the youth, he established JS Global. He started with small steps and gradually expanded the services offered by the institute.

Initially, they started by guiding students who wanted to pursue MBBS abroad. Jitendra noted that many students and parents lacked knowledge and proper guidance, often leading to misdirection. To resolve this issue, he began providing transparent and honest guidance, helping students make informed career choices and saving their parents both time and money. Gradually, students aspiring for careers in Architecture, Design, VFX, Business Management and Nursing started approaching them. They expanded their services to facilitate admission to various courses by partnering with colleges and universities abroad.

Recognising the pertinent need for career counselling, they started conducting seminars in schools. As demand grew, various colleges and universities began inviting them to hold career seminars on their campuses.

Jitendra proudly mentions that he has conducted more than 100 career seminars across universities, colleges, and schools in and around Udaipur, covering almost 12 districts and reaching more than 25,000 students. Additionally, they have personally counselled over 2,000 students. Their work extends beyond Udaipur, as they counsel, guide, and help students from across India, including Mysore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Shimla, Jammu, Kashmir, Indore, Ahmedabad, and Rajasthan. Jitendra feels fulfilled helping students and parents achieve their dreams of studying abroad or choosing the right career.

Drawing upon his experience, Jitendra Singh highlights that the scenario in schools has not changed much since he was a student, except in some private and public schools. He notes that even today, there is a significant need for career guidance for students. According to their data, more than 85% of students are unaware of the criteria they should use to choose their subjects in the 11th standard. Only 10–15% of parents are capable of guiding their children correctly. He also discusses the increasing trend of coaching classes and dummy schools, which leave students unaware of the many career options available to them. He asserts that there are more than 250 career options, but an average student and their parents are familiar with only 15-20.

He also highlights the fact that we live in a dynamic world where things and technology keep changing. He feels sad that students and parents are not keeping up with the times and are stuck on old concepts. He says that a student currently in the 10th grade might find that the career options they choose now may not be viable in five years. There is a big gap in career guidance, especially for students from 9th to 12th grade. Proper guidance can save parents time and money and prevent students from experiencing psychosomatic problems like anxiety and depression. He emphasises the need for proper career counselling, especially in mediocre and government schools.

Under their CSR activities, they approach government schools and provide career counselling services free of charge, making students aware of various career options. Another significant segment they are working in is overseas education. He says that earlier, the trend of studying abroad was limited to metropolises, but now it is seen in tier 3 and tier 4 cities as well. Previously, students would go abroad for master degrees, but now they are also pursuing undergraduate degrees to broaden their career horizons. The need for expert, honest, and reliable career counsellors has grown, and that is what their institute aims to provide. They offer the best guidance possible to students about various courses for studying overseas with low-budget options and 100% scholarship options for students with good academic records. They also have ties with universities featured in the QS World University Rankings, thus helping youngsters build successful careers.

He emphasises the importance of counselling 9th and 10th grade adolescents about their career options. These children are often confused and need appropriate guidance from their parents or an expert career counsellor. He points out that many scientific tools are now available that can predict which career options are suitable based on a student's personality. With psychometric tests, parents can identify their children's interests and suitable career paths.

Jitendra also urges parents not to impose their dreams on their children, as every child has a different personality and unique talents. He believes that not everyone is meant to become a doctor, engineer, CA, or collector, but every child has the potential to achieve something great if provided with the right guidance. He advises parents to be patient and supportive of their children’s pursuits, not to compare them with others, and not to pressure them into choosing a certain career. This pressure can lead to depression and misguided decisions. He suggests taking children to a career counsellor for proper guidance.

His message for children is that they are unique creations of God with a lot of talent within them. He encourages them to be confident and to openly discuss their interests with their parents and teachers. Developing hobbies can help enhance their personalities. He also advises them not to waste time on their mobile phones but to use them constructively, investing in skill and personality development.

Born in Sirohi, Rajasthan, Jitendra Singh completed his schooling in Jodhpur, Jalore, and Udaipur districts due to his father's transferable government job. He graduated from Jodhpur University and then moved to Udaipur to pursue his post-graduation.

Recalling his childhood, Jitendra says that his father was a government servant, and he studied in a government school, where he learned a lot and developed his personality. He actively participated in all extracurricular activities and used to administer the school pledge in the assembly every morning for three to four years. He regularly attended classes and rarely took leave of absence. Knowing he needed to develop his soft skills for his career, he focused on English as soon as he entered college. He advises the youth to develop communication skills and emphasises the importance of learning English to advance in their careers, noting that learning English involves listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

He explains that working in different sectors has made each day a new learning experience for him. He gained valuable experience working for various companies and continued to grow in his career.

When asked about his role models, Jitendra Singh says that India is the birthplace of countless great personalities. However, Swami Vivekananda has inspired him the most. He admires Swami Vivekananda's contributions to education, social work, and establishing India's importance on an international level. He often shares Swami Vivekananda's quotes on various platforms.

He mentions that he always remains happy and maintains a positive attitude, and is often asked by friends and family about how he stays positive in every situation. He says that he never takes anything too seriously, whether it is success or failure. He advises celebrating success, analysing failures without worrying, and then moving forward. Whenever he feels low, he listens to songs like "Manzil Na De Charagh Na De" by Jagjit Singh and "Itni Shakti Hame Dena Data."

Sharing his hardships, he regrets not spending enough time with his children when he was in a private job and had to tour a lot. Over time, he realised the importance of devoting time to family. He is grateful to his wife, who took care of the kids and his parents during his absence. He faced many challenges in his private job and later decided to start his own venture. When he began working on his venture, COVID-19 struck, posing a significant challenge. However, he kept himself motivated and never let disappointment affect him. His philosophy is to not dwell on failures and successes but to try to learn something new every day.

Sharing his achievements, he says that he has benefited over 20,000 students through career guidance counselling. Many parents have expressed their gratitude for helping their children with their career paths. They have placed numerous students in their chosen universities and provided training to them. Interacting personally with large groups, parents, and faculty during career guidance seminars has helped him learn new things. He shares an incident when a girl who attended his career guidance seminar called to thank him. Because of his guidance, she scored 82% in her 12th grade and requested further career guidance, but she mentioned she could not afford his counselling fees. Jitendra provided her counselling over the phone without charging. He believes that humanity is the greatest value. He shares another incident of a father who called him for advice on his son's career, whom he happily helped. He feels fulfilled helping such parents and students.

For all those aspiring to work in the education sector, he says that it carries huge responsibility and requires a continuous drive to gain knowledge. You need to be on your toes every day, as changes keep happening in both international and domestic education scenarios. Stay updated, keep your team updated, and convey the latest information to the students. It is essential to be honest and sincere in your efforts to guide students and parents, keeping away from monetary gains.

To the youth of the nation, he highlights that India is one of the top five economies in the world, with many opportunities awaiting young Indians. However, with more career options comes more confusion. He encourages 10th grade students to seek career guidance and choose their interests, which will help them grow and lead a happy life. He notes that today, out of three professionals, two change their profession within a few years because they cannot find satisfaction in their jobs. He advises the youth to choose a career that interests them and suits their aptitude and personality. Lastly, he urges them to choose a career wisely, enjoy life, and fully engage in their work. Develop your personality and soft skills, and don’t just chase degrees, he advises.
