Jitendra Kumar Mali is from a village in the Jalore district of Rajasthan. He passed out from his college in 2007 and registered his NGO in the same year.
He took inspiration from other people of his village who were successfully working in the NGO sector. In the initial days of starting the NGO, Jitendra did not get much support or funding from the government. Regardless, he kept working at the regional level by making local groups. He worked in the direction of child safety, women empowerment, education, etc.
Jitendra had also started his computer institute - KN Takniki Siksha and Computer Prashikshan Sansthan along with the NGO with 45 students initially, which has now grown to 10,000 students.
After receiving recognition and support from the government, Jitendra also worked with various governmental departments and schemes.
Jitendra says by his experience that for running a successful NGO, funding and recognition by the government is very important. He also says that proper knowledge and a good social circle also helps in running an NGO successfully.
If he could go back in time, Jitendra would like to revisit 2007, as he says that at that time he had an amazing passion and determination to work for the society but not enough knowledge, and he would like to use his experience of a decade to go back and work even more efficiently.
