Jitendra Kumar has been diligently imparting his art knowledge to his students in an effort to keep traditional arts alive. Tabla was his first love, through which he entered the music field. Jitendra tried both government and private jobs but eventually found his true calling in his passion.

Jitendra Kumar is the Director of Ragashree Academy of Dance & Music.

Growing up in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Jitendra completed his education locally. His passion for music began at a young age, and he became a talented tabla player. He admired Zakir Hussain, regarded him as his guru, and learned from his style. He also received formal music training from a local teacher.

Jitendra Kumar initially worked in government services but later moved to the private sector to care for his ill father. However, the demands of his job prevented him from dedicating enough time at home, prompting him to quit. During a challenging transition between jobs, he decided to follow his passion and opened his own academy, combining his love for music with the need to earn a living.

At Ragashree Academy, Kumar offers a variety of dance and music training, including Kathak and Bollywood Dance. His ultimate aim is to promote the traditional arts of the nation. The academy also provides training in various musical instruments, such as the Tabla and the Guitar.

Jitendra's skill in playing the Tabla is demonstrated by his numerous achievements. He has participated in many competitions and youth festivals since his school days, earning numerous commendations. He has shared the stage with some of the best tabla players and has performed at the national level.

Jitendra's father is his role model, inspiring him with his hardworking nature and achievements. His father was also an avid dholak player, which sparked Jitendra's interest in music.

Reflecting on the COVID period, Jitendra notes that the music industry was significantly impacted by the lockdown, with only 20% of his students attending online classes.

Jitendra Kumar advises the younger generation to pursue their dreams passionately. He emphasizes that it is now possible to build a career in almost any field, such as music or sports.

He concludes by saying that with hard work and dedication, achieving one's goals is always possible.
