Jigisha is the initiator of the group ‘Kutumb’ and is preserving our traditional values through it. She says that we should not worry about others and do what interests us.

Jigisha Joshi is from Nathdwara, Rajasthan. She has done her Bachelors in Biology and after that, she opted for Masters in English Literature.

Jigisha shares that she is the initiator of a group named ‘Kutumb’ which is working in the field of preserving our traditional customs, music, traditions, festivals and values. She feels that folk culture and traditional rituals are slowly vanishing and she plans to create a platform that helps in saving this rich culture.

Jigisha says that every parent wishes to have a Doctor or Engineer in their home and seldom supports unconventional career choices. It was the same with her. Although her father is into theater and an NSD alumnus, it was only after Jigisha’s first video hit a million views that her father recognized her zeal in this field and started supporting her. Jigisha feels that unless you achieve success in life your talent will not be recognized by society.

Jigisha shares that once she was invited to sing Bhajans at the famous Nathdwara temple and it was an overwhelming experience for her to listen to her voice on speakers in the entire temple campus on Diwali. She says that winning twenty-three awards in three years in her college days is also something that reinstated her faith that she is made to do something in the creative field.

During Covid, Jigisha says that the main concern was the health of all family members. She says that earlier they used to shoot outside for videos, but it all stopped. She started helping through social media and arranged for oxygen cylinders and medicines.

Jigisha says that her role model is her mother. She mentions that her mother took care of her as her father was posted out of town. She also taught Jigisha about Indian culture. Jigisha says that Vinita Rathore, one of her teachers, also holds great reverence in her eyes. It was Vinita who recognized Jigisha’s talent and prompted her to refine it.

If given a Time Machine, she would like to go back in the past and change her habit of changing herself for pleasing others. She says that she lost many good opportunities due to this. She says that we should not try to please everyone but only ourselves.

In her free time, Jigisha likes to do creative activities like singing and writing. One of her books is also launching soon.
