Growing up, Jessica was taught values like binding everyone in the family together and to have a broader perspective on things which helped her find her place in India after her wedding with an Indian as these are the quintessential values of Indian culture.

Jessica Kumar is the Trainer, Writer, and Host of the podcast named, Invisible India.

Jessica is originally from the US, but has been living in Bihar, India for the past fifteen years. She says about her childhood that she was raised in a joint family at her maternal house. And growing up she was taught to be more accepting of others and have a broader perspective on things around which helped shape her personality.

Jessica shares that she received her entire formal education in the US itself. She was doing her Masters in Marketing and International Business, and during her masters, she got an opportunity to intern at an IT company based in India. She came to India and worked for the company for four years. Then she moved back to the US and there itself, she happened to find her partner who hailed from Bihar in India. A couple of years after getting married, in 2006, they both moved to Bihar as her husband’s parents were aging and he wanted to be there by their side.

Talking about her achievements, Jessica says that being able to raise her child along with fulfilling her professional commitments is her biggest accomplishment. Besides, being able to go to NYSE and ring the bell there to give trading activities for the day a go-ahead is also an achievement for her.

Jessica shares that through her podcast named, Invisible India, she tries to highlight the issues like Gender Inequality, Animal Cruelty, etc. that concern the country at large.

Jessica’s message to people is not to be selfish and to help others to help them grow personally and professionally.

To aspiring podcasters, Jesscia advises them to have a specific idea that they can talk about instead of just talking in-general. Besides, she advises them that they ought to work very hard as it’s not easy to make money out of podcasting.

In her spare time, she likes to exercise and explore the greenery that her backyard has to offer.
