At MDS, she shares her responsibilities with the principal, managing tasks like curriculum planning, recruiting staff, taking demonstrations, and looking into the planning of teachers.
Born in New Delhi and brought up in Visakhapatnam, Jaymala did her schooling and college education there. When her father retired, she decided to settle in Udaipur. She shares that her school was a fun place in Visakhapatnam and different from schools here in Udaipur. As far as her academic career is concerned, Jaymala shares that it has been a smooth journey with good learning from her seniors.
Discussing COVID, Jaymala shares that the pandemic has been difficult for everyone, including her, since she had to look after her old mother and her sister, who were not keeping well and undergoing medication. On the professional front, she found it challenging to manage online classes owing to technological aspects that were not present during her learning days. However, she learned along the way and also helped teachers get accustomed to it.
For aspiring teachers, Jaymala says that they need to be humble enough to take in corrections and focus on deep learning.
Jaymala considers JPG Lobo, one of her mentors, as her role model since he enriched her overall personality by putting her across different departments, owing to which she has been able to carry her role as a vice principal so beautifully. In her career, Jaymala has not only taught students across all sections but also handled the canteen and library departments.
The only hobby Jaymala has is reading all kinds of books; however, lately in Corona, she has started watching Pakistani serials.
As far as leadership is concerned, Jaymala works with her colleagues as a team and makes sure to give them their due credit for the hard work they put in.
