Jay, a music artist, started teaching music at age 8 and has been inspired by artists like A.R. Rahman. Despite initial demotivation, he has persevered with the support of his parents and teachers. He advises youth to set goals and prepare for challenges in any field, including music. Jay emphasises the importance of perseverance and hard work in achieving dreams.

Jay Vora is a music artist and founder of Jays Octave School of Music. He maintains a music school in Surat, where he teaches several instruments such as keyboard, guitar, harmonica, tabla, piano, and others. He currently runs two divisions of his music school.

Jay is from Bhavnagar. He completed his education in the 12th grade at Bhavnagar. He then completed his B.Com. and is currently pursuing a music degree.

Jay believes that challenges are unavoidable in life. He began teaching music at an early age in eighth grade. Since his boyhood, he has enjoyed teaching music. He relocated to Surat in 2007 and considered pursuing a career in teaching. At the age of 18, he began teaching music and gradually received positive feedback from his students. Initially, many discouraged him and advised Jay to choose a different career path. However, Jay never gave up hope and continued to work hard with the support of his parents.

When asked about his role models, Jay states that his parents have always supported him, even when others urged him to leave this industry and pursue something more meaningful. Then his professors encouraged and inspired him to pursue this career. Jay adds that he considers all artists, including A.R. Rahman, to be influential, as he has learned a great deal from observing them.

To music aspirants, Jay advises young people to have goals in life rather than doing things just because others are doing them. He believes that the profession of music has a lot of potential in today's world since one may pursue careers in entertainment, studio and live performances, or education. To grow in any industry, you must work hard; therefore, prepare yourself ahead of time, he advises.

He states that the sole lesson he wants to communicate to everyone is to not just dream but also act on those aspirations and work hard to attain them.

Jay spends his leisure time practicing, creating new songs, and learning more about the music industry. Exercising and doing yoga also help him calm down. He also works on ways to better teach students and help them advance in this sector while maintaining their individual personalities.

Talking about the COVID-19 pandemic, Jay admits that prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, he had no idea what the term 'lockdown' meant. He began teaching online and developed a structured program for his pupils, beginning with early morning live streaming, midday lessons, and practice sessions. During the pandemic, he learnt a lot about artists and sought to share that information with his students.
