Jay Kant Dave is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College. He has been in the teaching profession for thirty-five years now.
Recalling his childhood, Jay says that he spent his early days studying and growing up at Vidya Bhawan. He did his graduation in civil engineering and worked in the field. He later switched to teaching.
Talking about his challenges, Jay shares that he faced extreme health issues when he went into a coma due to sodium deficiency. And then came the pandemic, which further slowed down the recovery process.
Sharing his pandemic experience, Jay says that, in his opinion, taking online classes was not at all beneficial since it resulted in a lack of attention and disturbance on the part of students.
When asked about his role models, Jay says he considers his father as his role model, who taught him how to work honestly. He is also inspired by one of his mentors, Mantri Sir, who taught him the skill of always staying positive in life.
Jay advises aspiring teachers to learn something new every day to impart the same to their students.
If Jay could go back in time via a Time Machine, he would revisit his school days and relive the time he spent with his friends, which is now lost in the midst of time.
Besides teaching, Jay is associated with different social groups. He took on the project of building the Mahakaleshwar temple in Udaipur in 1998, which has been successfully completed today. Jay also works in the area of girls' education.
