After doing graduation in Hotel Management from Mangalore in 1999, Jatin Nagori started with a job at Taj Hotels. He worked there for two years and then quit the job to do his MBA. Then he joined ICICI Lombard and worked there for six years. When he left ICICI Lombard he was regional manager looking after Rajasthan and U.P.
Jatin’s father retired in 2009 and decided that he would live in Udaipur only. The family situation persuaded Jatin to come back to Udaipur and join his cousin’s business of electrical goods. He has grown tremendously in his business and apart from being distributor for many brands, he has a retail showroom where they provide total electrical solution to anyone building a house, shop, hotel or factory. They also do B2B projects. His firm Amrapali Enterprises is a renowned name not only in Udaipur but in the entire Rajasthan.
Jatin says that ups and downs are part of any business but being a close knit family and with support from banks and everyone else they always were able to tide over problems when the business was hit by developments like demonetization or the covid pandemic.
Jatin’s success mantra is total customer satisfaction. He and his team always strives to make any customer who walks in happy and satisfied.
Jatin thinks that it was a big decision on his part to decide to quit his job in 2009 and come back to Udaipur. But, now, he is happy that he is doing his own business. He says that if life takes him back in time he would have liked to start business earlier in order to get a good head start.
In his own opinion Jatin is not a born leader, but , with time, he could inculcate leadership qualities in him. Now, he guides his entire team and feels happy that through his business so many households are running.
For anyone entering business, his advice is that they should be focused, have good financial management and take advantage of the many government policies and schemes for startups and small and medium businesses. You must believe in your work force.
Jatin remembers the time spent in his childhood at Zawar Mines when his father was posted there. He liked those days very much as it was a close knit colony with everyone knowing each other.
Jatin loves his morning walks with his friends when they share their thoughts and laugh aloud which energises them for the whole day. He likes to spend time with his family on weekends.
