As an academician, she divides her work into parts, like teaching, through which she interacts with the students and learns new things from them. She also keeps track of the new trends and tries to upgrade herself. The second part entails research and writing that require serious thinking and reading. Till now, she has completed forty research papers which have been published in national and international journals.
Besides that, she has written four books and also translated one book into English from Gujarati. She has also conducted various workshops and faculty development programmes. The other part of her work life is her role as an independent director, which brings a very good balance between academics and industry, and she enjoys it a lot. She also establishes a good bond with her students.
Accepting her mistakes, Janki says that she was a very outspoken person, which sometimes created problems for her. But she learned from her mistakes, and now she doesn't express her opinions frequently and thinks twice before speaking.

She always tries to do things with perfection and aims for excellence. Her biggest accomplishment is that she has been successful in balancing a lot of things in her life, like financial, physical, and social success.
Janki’s role model is her grand aunt, Dr. Padma Desai, who encouraged and inspired her to take academics seriously. She also learned versatility and a go-getter attitude from her grandma. She also admires Uday Kotak, as she learned from him to keep life simple and work hard.
Janki’s success mantra is to keep an open mind and keep on working hard. She says that it is important to keep your finances neat, clear, and under your control.
