Jambu always felt the zeal to become a teacher and turn his passion for chemistry into a career. He emphasises the importance of gaining experience and knowledge through revision and honesty in teaching.

Jambu Jain is the Director and HOD-Chemistry at The Radiant Academy in Udaipur, where he teaches the students aspiring to pass the  IIT-JEE and NEET exams.

Sharing a childhood memory, Jambu says he cherishes the time when he went to Mumbai with his father to see a live cricket match. It was indeed a memorable moment in his childhood because he was always keen to watch and play cricket as a child.

Always wanting to become a teacher from a young age, Jambu was determined to turn his passion for chemistry into a career. Beginning his teaching career in 2007,  he feels delighted to have imparted his knowledge of the subject to his students for the past 15 years. Jambu says that if a teacher doesn’t have their concepts clear, they won’t be able to teach well. Initially, for three to four years, he used to study rigorously before teaching his students, and even today, he believes in revising his chapters before giving a class to impart quality education.

Talking about struggles, Jambu says that initially, he taught at a coaching institute for 10 to 12 years. Three years ago, along with his colleagues, he opened their own coaching institute during the COVID-19 period. It was challenging to teach and keep the students interested in learning through various means. Yet, with the cooperation of his students, he was able to ace this as well.

Jambu looks up to his brother when it comes to idolising someone. He admires his brother for always being hardworking, no matter how difficult things get. His brother possesses the art of patience and the courage to remain true to what is genuine, and Jambu strives to inculcate these traits in him.

Advising his students, Jambu always tells them to keep putting in the effort, no matter how tough it gets. He believes that a student who keeps working hard and never stops will definitely be able to achieve success in life.

Jambu is motivated by the song ‘Ruk jana nahi tu kabhi haar ke’ and tells the same to his students too.

When asked about his views on education and experience, Jambu says that the more experience you have, the more you will automatically inculcate education alongside it. He insists on doing one thing, again and again, to gain experience and learn simultaneously.

Sharing his regrets, Jambu says that he feels guilty for not working hard in his early years. Considering the education part, he did not put in consistent efforts in his studies in the initial years. On those lines, he advises his students to work hard from the start so that they don't regret the results later, no matter what they are.

Jambu was a good badminton player during his school days and aspired to play it professionally. He regrets that if he had put in consistent effort, he would have become an international-level player today. He adds that thinking about something and putting in the effort to achieve it makes a huge difference where students usually lag behind.

Advising aspiring teachers, Jambu says that they should create a teaching environment where the students feel free to clear as many doubts as they have. Every teacher should be keen to keep their students happy, help them study in a stress-free environment, and encourage them to just put in the effort consistently. Jambu urges all the teachers to study well themselves and teach their students with honesty.

Jambu urges the parents to give their children the freedom to choose what they want. The children, on the other hand, mustn’t misuse this freedom and maintain a balance between their education and the career they choose. The students must explore their field and focus on their education too, says Jambu.
