Jai Chawla is a Chartered Accountant in Pune.
Jai belongs to Bhopal and shifted to Pune four years ago to teach CA aspirants. He completed his CA in 2011. Initially, he practised for eight years along with teaching but later decided to go for full-time teaching in this field.
Recalling his childhood, Jai says that he belonged to a middle-class family where resources were limited. His father was a shop owner, and his elder brother too used to help his father at his work. Jai, however, was inclined towards studies. His mother got him admitted to a Hindi-medium school because their earnings were low. Afterwards he was shifted to an English medium school for higher education. He faced many struggles in his childhood and chose the CA course because it was affordable for his parents.
Accepting his mistakes, Jai says that his biggest mistake was that when he was a CA student, he indulged in some wrong activities. He chose the wrong path to earn extra income and came under a debt of one lakh rupees. Then he realised that he should have consulted someone before investing his money. His other mistake was that he didn’t pay attention to his health at the time of COVID.
Jai’s role model is his father. Jai appreciates his sacrifices and always adopts his teachings. He also admires his elder brother, his mother, and his wife, as they supported him a lot in his journey. His wife encouraged him to do better and to achieve his goals in life.
Jai’s life mantra is not to waste time on things which are not in our control and to do hard work to get success.
Advising aspirants to his field, Jai says that to enter the field of CA, the most important thing required is dedication and focus. Apart from studies and hard work, the correct way of understanding the concepts is also very important. Always have a learning attitude and have clear objectives for what should be done after becoming a CA, says Jai.
