Jagdish Chandra Jat is a Teacher at the MGGS, Dhanmandi, Udaipur.
Jagdish was born and raised in the Baghpura village of Rajsamand district. He has been residing in Udaipur for the past 14 years.
Jagdish recalls, during summer vacations, he used to work under NREGA in his village. He says that he was not good at studies during his school time and thus after completing his twelfth standard, he went to Silvassa to work in an aluminium shop. Jagdish returned after some time and continued his studies through the private mode. Again, during the second year of his graduation, he went to Surat to work at a clothing store. He returned to his hometown due to floods in Surat and continued his graduation.
After completing his graduation, Jagdish applied for the B.Ed course as his friends were also applying for it. He got through and began preparing for government teaching exams after completing his B.Ed.
Along with appearing for teaching exams, Jagdish applied for the post of police constable and also cleared it in 2010, but did not not join the service. Later, he cleared the RPSC exam for the post of LDC and served at the Rajsamand Collectorate for four months during 2013. He then quit the job at the collectorate, as he was selected at MLSU, Udaipur on the same post. During his stint at MLSU, he kept applying for various posts and cleared the exam for the post of ‘Suchna Sahayak’, but didn’t join, and kept on preparing for the post of 2nd Grade Teacher.
Jagdish’s hard work paid off and he eventually cleared the exam for the post of 2nd Grade Teacher in 2013 and got his first posting in the Kaliwas village of Udaipur district in December 2014. In 2019, he applied at the MGGS and cleared the interview to get his posting there and has been working here since then.
Jagdish says that his success in competitive exams is highly attributed to his parents and his elder brother who kept motivating him to continue his preparation despite many failures. He says that his father is his role model, who has faced many hardships in his life but gave his children good values.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Jagdish says that both are complementary to each other. He further says that education is more important as it can transform lives.
Jagdish says that he likes teaching young students, he believes that if their basics are clear from the beginning itself they will never face difficulty in the subject.
Advising aspirants, Jagdish says that you should thoroughly study the syllabus of the exam that you are preparing for. He further says that a meticulously planned study routine will definitely get you success.
Talking about his leadership style, Jagdish says that he was not a born leader and used to shy away from stage. He says that it was when he was pursuing his B.Ed, he learned public speaking and leadership, and got to apply that while teaching at coaching centres.
Given a chance to go back in time in a time machine, Jagdish says that he would like to improve his academic record.
During his free time, Jagdish likes to play volleyball and cricket. He also likes spending time with his friends.
Sharing his COVID experience, Jagdish says that he was assigned ration distribution duty and got to see the impact first hand. He further says that the amazing work by the police improved their image among the common public. He was also inspired by the social service that people did to help their fellow humans.
