Ishan Bhatt is a mechanical engineer who chose his passion for tattooing as a career. He feels that parents should nurture the natural talent of their children and let them grow the way they want to.

Ishan Bhatt is a tattoo artist and owner of ‘13th Old Street Tattoos’. He has been making tattoos since 2010.

Ishan was born in Balharshah, Chandrapur district, Maharashtra. He did his schooling in Vadodara, Gujarat, and high school in Indore. After that, Ishan did engineering in the mechanical stream.

Ishan says that when he was in college, he saw one of his friends getting a tattoo and it inspired him to learn the same. He researched a lot about it and came across a famous artist, Michael Cowasji (Tattoos by Mike).

Ishan shares that his father was ready for him to go into this field but convincing his mother took a lot of time. Eventually, he went to Delhi in 2008-09 to learn tattoo making from Michael.

Talking about his COVID experience, Ishan says that the pandemic affected everyone and he also had to shut down his studio for some time. He shares that his landlords and people around him were cooperative and hence he did not have to face many problems.

Regarding his achievements, Ishan says he feels that the biggest reward for anyone is appreciation and recognition. For him, his accomplishments are all those satisfied customers of his who he cherishes a lot.

Talking about inspiration and role models, he says that his father is the one. He has always supported Ishan and never demotivated him. Also, Ishan feels that we should absorb the good from every person we meet.

Ishan says that he likes to learn and try new things in his free time. In 2012, he did an animation course and in 2014 he enrolled in a course related to cinematics. He tries to keep his engineering side alive and hence has learned many things about drone making. In the COVID lockdown, he even developed a 3-D printer.
