Ira Bhargava Singhal is the Founder of ‘Kitchen of Flavours’ in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. By providing this platform, her motive is to bring in the flavours of types of Indian traditional food at one place.
Ira was born in Rewari, Haryana but brought up in Rajasthan. She had always been interested in cooking since childhood. She did her graduation in Agriculture.
Ira shares that in 2017, she started blogging in which she used to share her food recipes and she did that for two consecutive years. Then she got a chance to audition in ‘Master Chef’ but due to some reason she could not go there. So she thought of organising such a contest herself and she organised a contest called ‘Chef of Delhi’ in Delhi. And from there, the journey of ‘Kitchen of Flavours’ kicked off. She started this page with fifty members initially and today it has more than ten thousand members in just a year-and-a-half.
Ira considers her husband and her brother as her role models for believing in her and says that they have always supported her in making her dream come true. Even today they help her grow big and move ahead in life. Apart from that, her children also support her a lot by never disturbing her in between her sessions and work. Professionally, she considers Chef Anjali Ramaswamy as her role model because seeing her, Ira also started giving online sessions. She is immensely inspired by Chef Ashish Bhasin as he motivates her for every session and she also loves his recipes.
Ira explains that through her page, she runs online classes for Home Chefs and till now they have conducted around three hundred live sessions. Plus, she has organised forty-five talk shows of professional chefs till now. Apart from this, she also organises several sessions, contests and events at different places.
Ira says about her struggles that she had to face many challenges during the Covid time because she was going to organise an offline event in four different cities of the country but due to lockdown, it could not happen. It was very disappointing for her. She says that during the second wave of Covid, she started supplying free food to families who were living alone through the Kitchen of Flavours.
When asked about her achievements, Ira says that getting recognised by her work is the biggest achievement for her because the people once she aspired to meet, she is working with them today. Apart from this, getting associated with big brands and shooting for them is no less than an achievement for her.
Ira advises the new chefs that you must do fusion and try new recipes, but take your original and traditional recipes along with them.
If Ira gets a chance to go back in time, she would like to relive her time when she was in banking.
In her spare time, Ira enjoys spending time with her family and watching something or the other on the mobile.
