A compassionate social activist and an ayurvedic health counselor, Indu is trying to revive a new hope in society after the Pandemic.

Indu Sharma is a social activist and health counselor. She is the communication director at Dhruv Social Awareness Forum and Missionaries of Lord Budha in Delhi.

Indu says as an Ayurvedic Health counselor, she focuses on preventive healthcare as well as health promotion with a specific diet and lifestyle.  She also owns a website named MyhealthMyDoctor.com where her team counsels and gives consultation on healthcare issues.

Recalling her childhood days, Indu shares that when she was only five years old, she watched her father, who was a customs officer, catching drug smugglers. This made his father her real-life hero and she dreamt of following his path of fighting social evils for the rest of her life.

Sharing her experience of the COVID times, Indu says, during the Pandemic, when everyone was petrified by the situation and people were panicking a lot, people's suffering made her decide to discharge her duties as a health counselor.

To create awareness about COVID-19, Indu used to make calls, make youtube videos, and take zoom meetings for her known ones to counsel them on how to boost immunity and calm minds first with the help of Ayurveda and yoga and pranayam.

Asked about her role models, Indu says she follows Swami Vivekananda's preachings religiously. Indu quotes the saying of Vivekananda "Only way to check limits of possibility is to go beyond the impossible."

Talking about her struggles, Indu says going to slum areas as a social worker and convincing the underprivileged people to accept her selfless service is always tough. She says because the world is surrounded by selfish people, it has become difficult for people to believe in someone who wants to serve them selflessly. However, despite all hurdles and challenges, she was determined for the upliftment of this section of society and so she kept going to them and serving them, and eventually, she won their hearts and above all their trust. Indu feels proud when she says how out of love, people started calling her "Didi".

Indu says her biggest regret is listening to negative people in her teenage days when she had a dream of becoming an IPS officer like Kran Bedi was, but because of some health problems she got operated and after that, she was surrounded by people's negative words about her physical incapability to clear the UPSC exams. She remembers the time when she went through a lot and lost hope but Vivekananda's books gave her energy and faith back, she collected herself and decided to find her path again.

Indu advises young people to ignore such people and search for their career choice. Indu asks youth to set their target and not to stop until they achieve it.

Indu takes inspiration from these words ”If you live for yourself then there is no use of this life, live life for others and be worthy.”
