Imran Khan has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Aravali Institute of Technical Studies in Udaipur for the past five years.
He brings a decade of experience as an engineering educator. His educational journey began with a diploma from Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College, followed by a B.Tech from Pacific College, and an M.Tech, which he completed in 2019.
Imran Khan shares that success comes with struggles. Growing up, he faced significant challenges, including walking 15–16 kilometres daily to reach school and relying on public transport for college. Despite these difficulties, he worked hard during his college years, balancing a job alongside his studies, which ultimately allowed him to buy his first motorcycle—an achievement that symbolized his determination.
One of Khan’s proudest accomplishments is completing his B.Tech with a 70% aggregate despite transitioning from a Hindi-medium school to an English-medium college. This shift posed a considerable challenge, but his perseverance paid off, contributing to his later success in his M.Tech studies.
Imran Khan credits his father as his greatest role model, from whom he has learnt invaluable lessons. He shares that his father has always been a guiding and supportive figure throughout his educational and professional journey. After completing his diploma, it was his father who encouraged him to pursue a B.Tech, and later, his father’s motivation was key to Imran embarking on and completing his M.Tech studies.
For future engineers, Imran Khan emphasizes the importance of having a clear goal and the drive to continually learn. He advises that success in the engineering field requires both solid theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. He also recommends exploring various places and opportunities to broaden one’s skills and insights.
In his leisure time, Khan enjoys listening to music, which he finds to be a source of relaxation and joy.
When asked to choose between education and experience, Khan believes both are equally important and should be developed side by side to build a well-rounded career. If he could travel back in time, Imran would relive his childhood, cherishing those carefree days.
To young people, Khan’s advice is to set clear goals early, work consistently towards them, and start acquiring knowledge and experience as soon as possible.
