Vasu Rathore's entry into the world of dance began in 2010 when he watched a performer showcasing the Bone Breaking dance style on a television reality show. The unique movements and creativity of the performance left a lasting impression on him and ignited a deep passion inside him for dance.

Inspired by what he saw, he started learning and practising dance on his own. Initially, he focused on Freestyle Dance, spending countless hours improving his skills and understanding movement. As his interest grew, he began exploring more technical and challenging dance forms.

Eventually, he developed a strong inclination towards Popping Robotics, a style that later became his identity and earned him recognition across Chittorgarh and beyond. To strengthen his technical knowledge, he completed a professional three-month Diploma Course in Dance from Ahmedabad, gaining valuable training and exposure. Over time, for Vasu Rathore, dance evolved from a hobby into a lifelong passion and professional career.

As he continued refining his skills in Popping Robotics, his performances began attracting attention from audiences and fellow artists. His unique style, stage presence, and commitment to the art form earned him the nickname “Poppin Toy.” Today, this name is widely recognized throughout Chittorgarh and carries a story of hard work, sacrifice, struggles, and achievements. For Vasu Rathore, “Poppin Toy” is not just a stage name; it represents years of dedication, countless hours of practice, and an unwavering commitment to growth.

Even after years of experience, he believes that dance remains an endless path of learning. According to him, dance is not merely a style or a profession—it is an entire galaxy of creativity and expression. He believes that no dancer can ever completely master dance because there is always more to learn, explore, and discover.

One of the most defining moments of Vasu Rathore's career came when he participated in a dance competition called ‘Swag of Udaipur’. At that stage of his life, he struggled with confidence issues and experienced a strong fear of speaking in public. Standing on stage, facing an audience, or holding a microphone felt intimidating to him. Despite these fears, he decided to challenge himself and participate in the competition.

During the event, he performed a powerful nine-minute storytelling dance act based on the theme of “Maa” (Mother). In the performance, he portrayed the emotional story of a poor child and expressed the sacrifices and love of a mother through dance and acting.

The performance deeply moved both the audience and the judges. His emotional storytelling, expressive acting, and impactful choreography earned widespread appreciation, and he emerged as the winner of the competition. Winning the Swag of Udaipur title became one of the most significant achievements of his life. More importantly, it gave him confidence and reinforced his belief that hard work and self-belief can overcome fear.

Following this success, Vasu Rathore participated in numerous dance competitions, auditions, cultural programs, and television reality show selections. Although he faced several rejections on larger platforms, he never allowed setbacks to discourage him. Instead, he continued competing across Rajasthan and neighbouring regions, including Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Mandsaur, and many other cities. Through consistent effort and exceptional performances, he won numerous competitions, trophies, certificates, and recognitions.

Today, his expertise and reputation are so respected that many event organizers invite him not as a contestant but as a judge. He regularly evaluates dance and modelling competitions, sharing his experience and knowledge with emerging talent.

Fitness & Cardio Trainer Vasu Rathore was born in 1997 in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. His family originally belonged to the nearby village of Netawal. Before his birth, his parents lived in the village and faced significant employment challenges. Seeking better opportunities, his maternal grandfather encouraged them to move to Chittorgarh and begin a new chapter in their lives.

The family started their career in the city with limited resources and numerous hardships. His parents worked tirelessly to create a better future for their children and ensure that Vasu Rathore received a quality education despite financial struggles. He completed his schooling at a private institution until Class 10. Later, he pursued Classes 11 and 12 through open schooling and subsequently completed his graduation in the Science (Biology) stream.

Behind every successful artist stands a mentor who inspires growth, and Vasu Rathore proudly acknowledges the individuals who guided him throughout his career. His first and most influential mentor was Ashish Kelvin, whom he considers his biggest role model. Ashish Kelvin introduced him to professional dance training, choreography, event management, and stage performances. Under his guidance, Vasu Rathore trained for nearly three years and gained valuable practical knowledge about the dance industry.

Despite financial limitations and travelling challenges, he remained committed to learning from his mentor. Although circumstances prevented him from completing all the training he wished to receive, the lessons he learned during those years laid the foundation for his future success.

Later, Vasu Rathore met Rhythm Sir, who played a crucial role in shaping his modelling career. Rhythm Sir introduced him to the world of modelling, professional judging, grooming, presentation skills, and stage evaluation. Through his guidance, Vasu Rathore developed a deeper understanding of what judges observe in contestants and how modelling differs from dance as an art form. He remains grateful to Rhythm Sir for helping him grow into a well-rounded performer and judge.

Among all the songs that inspire him, one remains especially close to his heart:

“राम करे ऐसा हो जाए, मेरी निंदिया तोहे मिल जाए, मैं जागूँ तू सो जाए”

The song reminds him of his late father and the emotional moments they shared together. During his father’s battle with Myeloproliferative Disorders, his health deteriorated significantly. His father was often confined to bed and faced difficulty walking or carrying out daily activities.

Vasu Rathore frequently spent time with him, helping him stay comfortable and connecting the television so he could listen to his favourite retro songs. This particular song became one of his father’s most cherished melodies. Even today, whenever he hears the song, it brings back memories of his father’s love, sacrifices, and strength.

Inspired by these emotions, he created a storytelling dance act based on the song and hopes to develop it into a complete stage production dedicated to his father’s memory.

Growing up, he experienced many financial difficulties. There were times when he did not have access to the comforts enjoyed by many of his peers. However, these challenges strengthened his determination and taught him the value of hard work and perseverance.

One of the biggest challenges he faced was the closure of his three separate dance academies due to financial constraints. Unable to generate sufficient income and struggling to pay rent, he was forced to shut down his ventures despite his dedication and efforts. There were periods when he spent six to seven months paying academy rent without earning any significant income. The pressure became overwhelming, and he seriously considered giving up his dream. However, instead of quitting, he chose to continue working with patience and determination. Eventually, his persistence began to produce results, and the academy started growing steadily.

Vasu Rathore also faced numerous rejections during auditions, competitions, and professional opportunities. Yet, every rejection became a learning experience that strengthened his resolve. Today, he views those struggles as essential stepping stones that contributed to his growth and success.

One of Vasu Rathore’s strongest beliefs is that success requires investment in personal growth. He openly shares that he has invested significant amounts of money in training programs, workshops, certifications, travel, and skill development throughout his career. Initially, he believed it might be possible to learn everything for free, but experience taught him otherwise. According to Vasu Rathore, genuine growth occurs when individuals are willing to invest in themselves. He believes that acquiring valuable skills often requires both financial commitment and dedicated effort.

His philosophy is simple: “If you invest in your learning today, your skills will reward you tomorrow. Growth comes to those who are willing to invest in themselves.”

One of Vasu Rathore’s greatest sources of pride is the success of his students. Many of his trainees have established their own careers as dancers, choreographers, trainers, and performers. Some have successfully launched startups related to dance and fitness, while others have moved to larger cities to pursue professional opportunities.

A particularly inspiring example is one of his students who began learning contemporary dance at the age of seventy. Through dedication and proper guidance, the elderly student achieved remarkable growth and eventually received invitations to serve as a judge at various events. Moments like these reinforce Vasu Rathore’s belief that age is never a barrier to learning and achieving excellence.
