Among its notable initiatives is a program that provides driving training to HIV-positive young adults, helping them acquire employable skills and become financially independent. The club also supports women and girls by facilitating their training under the RS-CIT (Rajasthan State Certificate Course in Information Technology) program, enabling them to enhance their digital literacy, improve their employment prospects, and explore opportunities for self-employment.

Rotary Club President Meeta Mathur highlights club projects focused on empowering persons with disabilities through meaningful employment opportunities. In collaboration with the Ahan Foundation, efforts are being made to provide education, skill development, and vocational training to individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. These individuals are trained to create various products and offer services, for which they are fairly compensated, enabling them to earn with dignity and confidence.

Sharing a recent example, Meeta Mathur mentions that on June 1, 2026, in the presence of Rotary District Secretary General Pritam Goswami, regular SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) accounts were initiated for members of the Ahan Foundation. This thoughtful initiative was designed to encourage a culture of savings and provide long-term financial security for the beneficiaries. Through such efforts, the foundation is not only creating employment opportunities and generating income but also nurturing self-respect and financial awareness in them , for future stability.

In addition, the Rotary Club works closely with women employed in industrial and labour-intensive sectors. Recognizing the challenges they face due to limited sanitation facilities and long working hours, the club promotes menstrual health awareness and distributes menstrual cups as a sustainable and practical solution.

Club President Meeta Mathur further highlights Rotary Club Jaipur Bapu Nagar’s impactful ‘Gajanan Janani Project’, under which the club adopts nine underprivileged pregnant women, affectionately referred to as the 9 ‘Devis’. The initiative is based on the belief that many women from economically and socially deprived backgrounds often do not receive adequate care and attention during pregnancy, despite the availability of government welfare schemes.

Through this project, the club ensures that these women receive essential support throughout their pregnancy, including nutritious food, medicines, regular health monitoring, and other basic necessities. Special attention is given to high-risk and severely anaemic mothers, who are provided with appropriate medical interventions, including blood transfusions, iron supplements, and continuous healthcare guidance to improve their maternal health and ensure the safe delivery of healthy babies.

The support does not end with childbirth. The Club continues to monitor and assist both the mother and the child for up to one and a half years after delivery to help prevent neonatal and early childhood health complications. To ensure proper nutrition during this crucial period, the club provides nutritional support, including milk and other essential dietary requirements for both the mother and the child. Through the Gajanan Janani Project, Meeta Mathur and her team strive to place maternal and child health at the forefront, ensuring that every mother receives the care, dignity, and support she deserves.

Mathur shares that their club has developed a structured and compassionate support system aiming at bridging the gap between vulnerable women and the resources available to them. The objective is not only to provide assistance but also to create a sense of belonging, dignity, and community support for expecting mothers.

As part of this effort, the club consciously celebrates important milestones in a woman's pregnancy journey. Traditional ceremonies such as God Bharai are organized to make expecting mothers feel valued and cherished. Neighbours, family members, and members of the local community are invited to participate in these celebrations, fostering a supportive environment around the mother-to-be. During these events, essential items such as nutritious food, milk, medicines, and healthcare support are also distributed.

She also emphasizes that beyond the material support, the initiative seeks to convey a powerful social message 'गर्भवती महिला सम्मान की योग्य है' . Through these celebrations and community engagements, the club aims to ensure that every expecting mother feels acknowledged, supported, and respected during one of the most important phases of her life.

Apart from its various social initiatives, Club President Meeta Mathur considers one of the Rotary Club's greatest achievements to be the spirit of service that inspires each member to become a changemaker in their own right. She shares that every member has embraced the club's philosophy of 'Service Above Self' by taking independent initiatives and leading projects aiming at empowering women and supporting those in need.

Citing an example, Mathur recalls how her fellow member, Vandana Parik, organized a God Bharai ceremony for her domestic helper, treating her with the same care and respect extended under the Gajanan Janani initiative. For Meeta, such actions reflect the true success of the club's efforts—when the values of compassion, dignity, and service move beyond organized programs and become a part of everyday life.

RCJ Bapu Nagar President Meeta Mathur believes that the real achievement of her presidential tenure lies in witnessing club members internalize these values and express them through their own individual acts of kindness and social responsibility. The dedicated social worker happily adds that through the Gajanan Janani Project and other maternal welfare initiatives, the club members now affectionately consider themselves grandparents to many children whose lives they have touched and supported from before birth.

Another noteworthy initiative under her leadership is focused on the welfare and well-being of senior citizens. Through this project, the club provides essential items such as food, blankets, towels, medicines, mosquito repellents, and insect-control devices to residents of old-age homes, ensuring their comfort, hygiene, and overall quality of life.

However, Meeta and her team believe that human needs extend far beyond food and shelter. In her view, every individual seeks companionship, intellectual engagement, and a sense of purpose in life. With this belief, the club launched a unique initiative called 'Jadoo Bhari Almari', aiming at enriching the lives of senior citizens through reading and learning.

Under this initiative, cupboards filled with carefully selected books were installed in several old-age homes. The collection included religious literature, books on naturopathy and wellness, fiction, inspirational works, and light entertainment reading material. A special contribution was made by team member Rotarian Rachna Arya, who played a key role in selecting and curating the books with great thought and care. Through Jadoo Bhari Almari, the Rotary Club sought not only to provide comfort to senior citizens but also to nurture their minds, inspire meaningful engagement, and bring joy to their everyday lives.

To further enhance the healthcare facilities available to senior citizens, the Rotary Club formed a dedicated medical and dental care team to address their health needs. The initiative was led by Dr. Gunjan, along with Dr. Harish Bhardwaj and Brijesh Gupta, who provided valuable support in the areas of oral and dental healthcare.

In collaboration with Rotaract members and students from Jaipur Dental College, the Rotary Club organized special healthcare and dental care initiatives for senior citizens residing in old-age homes. Recognizing that many elderly residents faced mobility challenges and were unable to visit healthcare facilities regularly, the team brought medical and dental services directly to them.

Despite various logistical and operational challenges, the volunteers and healthcare professionals worked tirelessly to provide on-the-spot consultations, dental treatments, and essential healthcare support. Through their collective efforts, numerous senior citizens received timely care and attention in a comfortable and familiar environment.

On a special note, Meeta Mathur speaks passionately about a cause that is particularly close to her heart—working with specially abled individuals and promoting an inclusive society. Under the banner of the Rotary Club, she has been leading and supporting several initiatives that celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with the objective of creating meaningful interactions and opportunities for people of all abilities.

One of the most memorable initiatives was the Inclusive Garba Utsav, which brought together nearly 300 school students and over 50 college volunteers in a vibrant celebration of togetherness. The event was filled with joy, enthusiasm, and positive energy, providing a platform where specially abled and non-disabled participants could connect through dance, music, and shared experiences. Meeta Mathur believes that such interactions help break social barriers and foster mutual understanding and acceptance.

She further adds by sharing that the Rotary club has also organized a variety of inclusive activities, including drawing competitions, dance performances, singing events, and celebrations on International Dance Day, ensuring active participation from specially abled individuals. Another significant initiative was the Ashok Smriti Drawing Competition, held on 14th November, which encouraged children of all abilities to showcase their creativity and talent.

Meeta Mathur proudly shares that many artworks created by specially abled participants were exceptionally creative and expressive, often leaving a lasting impression on judges and visitors alike. For her, these events are not merely competitions or celebrations but opportunities to recognize abilities beyond limitations and to create a society where every individual feels valued, respected, and included.

Sharing another initiative that is particularly close to her heart, Meeta Mathur speaks about the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Bharat Ko Jaaniye\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" project. Through this educational and awareness-driven program, the Rotary Club conducts monthly interactive sessions in partner schools, with live telecasts extending the reach of these discussions to other educational institutions as well.

The primary objective of the initiative is to encourage students to engage with topics related to current affairs, Indian history, culture, heritage, and contemporary issues shaping the nation. Through these sessions, students are introduced to a wide range of subjects, including India's cultural diversity, educational systems, national developments such as Operation Sindoor, nutrition and healthy living, and other socially relevant topics.

To enrich these discussions, the project regularly invites accomplished professionals and subject experts to interact with students. Distinguished speakers such as the renowned chef Ravi Agrawal, and Dr. Sunil, a diabetes specialist and nutrition expert, have guided students on healthy eating habits, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle choices. Sessions have also explored topics such as the history of Jaipur, its architectural heritage, and the cultural significance of the city.

With a belief that initiatives like Bharat Ko Jaaniye help young minds develop a deeper understanding of their country, broaden their perspectives, and become informed, responsible citizens.

Meeta Mathur dedicates a heartfelt message to every Rotarian who contributes to the club's social initiatives and community service efforts. She often says,

Born in Bundi, Rajasthan, Meeta Mathur spent much of her childhood traveling across different cities due to her father's service in the Indian Army. These experiences exposed her to diverse cultures, people, and perspectives, shaping her understanding of society from an early age.

After completing her graduation, she began her professional journey as a University Teacher. However, driven by a deeper sense of purpose and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, she later chose to become a special educator, working with specially abled children.

She proudly shares that despite being a specially abled child, he has achieved remarkable milestones and established his own identity through determination, perseverance, and hard work. His journey of overcoming challenges and striving for excellence continues to inspire her every day.

Meeta Mathur fondly shares a poem that holds a special place in her heart and often serves as a source of inspiration in her life:

'आलोक से घर महकने लगेगा,हथेली पर रोशन कोई चीज़ रख दो।बहुत रात तक रोशनी करती है,अगर दिल में छोटी सी उम्मीद रख दो।'

Continuing further, Meeta Mathur expresses an apology to the younger generation for the world they are inheriting—a world burdened by pollution, smoke, and environmental degradation. She believes that while children are often criticized for not listening to their elders, the real responsibility lies with the adults who have collectively contributed to the challenges the world faces today. According to her, there is little reason to blame the younger generation when it is society's elders who have largely shaped the current state of the environment and social landscape.
