Dr. Himanshu Rajora is an experienced Judo instructor at the Rajasthan State Sports Council's Judo department. He coaches Judo players at the Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon and the Gandhi Ground Stadium.

Born in Udaipur, Himanshu trained in wrestling at the Ustad Lakshman Singh Vyayamshala at Swaroop Sagar in Udaipur. Gradually, he developed an interest in Judo and turned towards the sport. In 2006, he earned a Diploma in Judo Coaching from NIS, Patiala.

Finally, in 2012, he joined the Rajasthan State Sports Council as a judo coach and has been there till date. He was earlier posted in Barmer and then transferred to Udaipur.

Himanshu says that about 50 to 70 sportspeople regularly train under him. He says talent identification is required in order to make full use of the caliber possessed by students in the country. He wants future athletes and trainers to make the country proud. He is happy that people have become more inclined towards sports during the last few years. He is also working on training the differently abled athletes for the paralympic games and believes that they possess much more talent than the normal kids.

Leadership is inculcated with experience, according to him. One is not born a leader. Learning from mistakes, achieving team goals, and helping everyone reach their own goal is a leader’s foremost duty. A leader also has the responsibility of teaching and nurturing future leaders.

Himanshu feels that one must first possess a sportsman’s spirit, be disciplined, and be an overall good human being.
