Himanshu is a diligent sportsperson who is determined to achieve his goals and is never afraid of hard work. He is an SI aspirant and working very hard to fulfil his wish to do something great for the country.

Himanshu Khokhawat is a Powerlifter. Recently, he has won three bronze medals and one silver medal in the National Senior Powerlifting Competition in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Also, he is working on the post of SOI in Civil Defence. He says in the event of fire, flood or any other incident, which may cause loss of property or life, their duty is to protect people and try to save their lives.

Himanshu belongs to Udaipur. He did his schooling from Happy Home School and graduated from B.N. College. He had cleared his 12th from Science-Maths, but after entering into sports, he took Arts in College. He says that he joined Karate at the age of seven at the behest of his father and after two-three years, he played at state level and won a gold medal in Taekwondo in Sri Ganganagar. Then slowly he set his foot in Boxing and played it for four years in which he bagged a National medal.

Himanshu shares that his uncle is a National Powerlifting Player and at his insistence, Himanshu also started taking training in powerlifting and gradually he went into weightlifting too. He played several tournaments but didn’t win a single one, still he didn’t give up and continued his training. Soon he won bronze and gold medals at district and state levels and his journey in powerlifting started. Unfortunately, his shoulder dislocated a few days before his weightlifting tournament and he underwent a surgery. Due to this incident, his family members refused him permission to make his career in this field for it being risky but still after six months of rest, he resumed participating in the sport. Although his performance was hampered, he was able to win a silver medal at state level. Since then, he worked hard on his hand and made it so strong that he has even won a National Level medal.

Himanshu considers Amrit Kalyani as his role model as he was his powerlifting coach at Luv Kush Stadium. He feels that because of Amrit’s hard core training for five years, he was able to win the national medal. Another of his coaches, Anil Saini, is also his role model because he was a gym owner and he trained Himanshu physically for three years along with taking care of his diet and nutrition at no cost.

Himanshu’s biggest achievement in life is that he won a Bronze Medal at the National Level in Powerlifting and he claims he has made history in Udaipur by winning it. And, in his opinion, an even bigger achievement is that today he is the biggest name in powerlifting in Udaipur.

Talking about Covid Himanshu says that during the pandemic all gyms were closed due to the lockdown so he used to do his physical training at home.

Himanshu shares that his parents took care of him at every step of his life and supported him for everything. They never denied him anything.

Himanshu advises the newcomers that you should never stop your powerlifting training and always maintain your diet besides keeping your will power strong.
