An RJ, Himanshu is the first male voice on an Udaipur radio station. He was also awarded in 2019 for performing the highest number of live stage shows, which were recorded in the India Book of Records. He is still striving to achieve his best.

Himanshu Jain is a Radio Jockey and has been in this field since 2007. He hails from Udaipur.

Recalling his childhood, Himanshu says that he was a naughty kid, due to which he had to change schools five times. He used to actively participate in all the extracurricular activities and events at his school, and he loved to go on stage. He was supported and encouraged by his parents to move forward in life.

Himanshu shares that after completing college, he used to help his father in his business. During his travels with his father, he used to listen to Akashvani, which was the turning point in his life. He had the skills of persuading and convincing people since his early days, which helped him add seventy promoters to his team in just seven months.

Talking about his professional journey, Himanshu says that he was accompanying his friend to the audition, but he himself auditioned and unexpectedly got selected for the position of RJ. Himanshu joined as an RJ at an Udaipur radio station, then took up primetime shows and made his move to regional RJ for the whole of Rajasthan. He did many shows and received the No. 1 job award in the AC Nielsen survey.

In his seven years of journey as an RJ, Himanshu got several promotions, from executive producer to programme team leader, then as hub manager to lead all RJs in Rajasthan. Inevitably, Himanshu decided to move into the television industry, where he did many shows on MTV, VTV, and Astha channels. He is also a motivational speaker and does shows on YouTube and social media.

Sharing about his challenges, Himanshu says that he grew up listening to Akashvani, which was totally different from what he is working for today. So, he took some time to adapt to the trend of the radio channels and improvised his skills. He also attended the training session with some senior RJs in the initial period of his journey and got to learn a lot from it.

Himanshu, being an RJ, believes in the power of words and says that it is the choice of words that determines how much we pay and how much we receive in return.

When asked about his role models, Himanshu tries to follow the positive traits of every person that he meets in his life and seeks to develop those qualities in himself.

Comparing the two, Himanshu believes that there must be synergy between education and experience because both are equally important and incomplete without each other.

If given a chance to travel back in time via a time machine, he would follow the same path again without changing anything. He never set goals for himself and just followed the path he enjoyed the most.

In the time of COVID, Himanshu believes that this period has made all of us realize the significance of our Indian culture, which we were forgetting in the race of modernization. He also conducted several online classes as a motivational speaker during the lockdown period.

In his spare time, Himanshu likes to go to the gym, do some yoga, and read some books. He follows a healthy diet and also cooks his own food.

For mental peace, Himanshu advises making some good friends and spending quality time with them. He further warns about staying away from any kind of addiction because it might provide relief for some time but is not a permanent solution.

Himanshu’s message for everyone is that life is all about your outlook and how you're going to take it. Reflect on your weakness and work on it.
