Hemlata feels that being a teacher added to her confidence. She feels that choosing a field of their interest is what the new generation should focus on.

Hemlata Upadhyay is a TGT of Social Science at Central Public School, Udaipur.

Hemlata was born and brought up in Dehradun. She did her schooling from there itself. After that, she did B.Com., M.Com., B.A. and M.A. in Economics.

Hemlata says that she was a very introverted student in her school days. Coming into the profession of teaching made her confident and she started feeling good about herself.

Talking about her hobbies, Hemlata says that she loves traveling and exploring new places. Rajasthan always fascinated her and hence shifting here after marriage was a welcome change in her life, according to Hemlata.

Sharing about her role models Hemlata says that her father is the one for her. Her father taught her to never get disappointed in life and to keep patience. He always advised her never to lose patience in life.

When asked about her experience of COVID-19, Hemlata says that the pandemic completely destroyed the set patterns of life. She spent time with her family and feels that family bonds grew stronger during this period. Hemlata adds that she was not at all tech savvy but learned about the same during the pandemic to take online classes.

Advising the new generation, Hemlata says that they should focus on choosing a career that interests them and grow confidence in that field.

In her free time, Hemlata resorts to pranayama and meditation. She also enjoys spending time with her kids and listening to songs.
