Hemant is a proficient teacher at Digantar, who is actively working for the welfare of society while educating the students about the practical aspects of life and helping them become good citizens as well.

Hemant Sharma belongs to a small village called Baleta in the Alwar district of Rajasthan and is connected to education from the past 20 years. Presently, he is working with “Digantar Shiksha Evam Khelkood Samiti”, which is a non-profit organization.

About his memories from Childhood, he says he lived in the village and had a very struggling childhood because of his father’s illness and had a baggage of responsibilities on his shoulder to cope up with. He always dreamt of being a teacher and wanted to work in the education field only.

After his graduation, he started teaching in private schools, but at that time his main aim was to earn money due to which he even did home tutoring. Teaching was not a big deal for him till he came to know about Digantar and joined the organization. While working with Digantar, he noticed that teaching is not an easy task, in fact it's a challenging job. He felt overwhelmed being a part of that organization and learnt the real meaning of teaching. Also, he realized that, “to lay the foundation of a good society, you must prepare good citizens prima facie” and to achieve this, proper direction has to be given. This is the duty of a teacher and he thinks he played this role very well.

Hemant says that “a thoughtful decision stands good and accountable for people because your decision must contain important elements like- your society, thoughts, scope and limitations. Also, making sure that no one feels harassed by such a decision, or having problems with this. So he summarises his thoughts by saying “decisions that are taken thoughtfully, prove to be a ray of welfare”.

Hemant does not actually have a single motivating person in life. He was always motivated by great people like Gandhi and Ambedkar, so he has a deep thinking that if we want to grow in life, then the first step is to do something for society that gives us a better direction and that he has achieved it in Digantar. His work with these kids there, strengthens his steps towards giving them the right direction.

He thinks that if you prepare just even a single child who is able to play a good role in the society, it is when your soul and body feel content. He feels great to have this opportunity in Digantar because they practice equality and communicate with students. Apart from this, his thought process has changed in a way that “Money is not everything, if you have good thoughts and want to do good deeds, that is what gives you more satisfaction than money.”

Hemant got scared by Covid as it rattled the whole world severely. He also suffered and was bothered about his family. So, together with people residing in his colony, they made some rules to help survive in those difficult times. He also helped in household chores, spent quality time with his family and did some reading. He then started working at home for Digantar, preparing good content for students and keeping the environment positive. Also, he along with a couple of friends and Digantar, started collecting funds to distribute food to needy people and even helped the migrants.

He feels this time gives us a lesson that if we live with peace and harmony in the society maintaining brotherhood, it helps us move forward in a smooth and better way, and that can be done with the help of education only.

He sings a few lines of a song he admires a lot that strengthens him from within and motivates others too.
