Hemant is making an effort to reduce the consumption of energy by manufacturing LED lights that are ultimately environment friendly by producing zero toxic elements and having a longer life span.

Hemant Jain is a Director at Kundan Switchgears Pvt. Ltd., Udaipur and Senior Vice-President at Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His company manufactures LED lights and is into OEM business for Havells, Cyska, Surya, Panasonic and other leading brands.

Hemant did his schooling from Alok School and Vidhya Bhawan, Udaipur and started his career just after completing his B.E. from M.B.M. Engineering College, Jodhpur.

From his childhood, Hemant was intrigued towards business rather than going for a job. He believes that there are some incidents from his school time that still help him in business. He remembers the time when he was very fond of flying kites with friends, but parents did not allow him to do that to avoid any mishaps. But he used to fulfil his hobby secretly by selling complimentary newspapers to arrange money for buying kites.

Hemant consciously chose the profession of LED manufacturing, as he was concerned about energy conservation. Initially he considered two-three products out of which he felt that LED lights have a potential in them and are helpful from the perspective of energy saving for the country as whole.

Hemant’s role models in business are Ravindra Choksi and Sanjay Singhal because Ravindra has developed a world class industry in Udaipur and exports to almost forty countries. On the contrary, Sanjay is M.D. at Secure Metres and despite not having any support for electronics in Udaipur, he has developed the best industry.

Hemant says that due to covid, business is a bit low, less work is being done due to low demands, but he says he just needs a small part of the market which can be grabbed if the work is done in a disciplined manner and quality of the product is maintained.

Hemant speaks about his industry that is working on energy saving which is a thrust area for India as well as the world. Further he says, India has signed a treaty to reduce its carbon footprint by which, the street lights all over India will get converted into LED lights. So he expects his business to run in full swing in the near future.

Hemant thinks that spending time with your family is as important as working today. He goes for a walk daily to keep himself mentally and physically fit.

Hemant believes that education and experience plays equal importance in a career. Only education doesn’t work but only experience may work sometimes. You learn with experience, which is not taught in any syllabus. Thus, it is necessary to have a balance of both the elements.
