Heena Sharma is an Associate Professor and HOD in the Department of Anatomy at a college.
Heena was born in Lucknow. Her father was in a transferable Railways job and thus, her education was completed in a mix of cities including Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad, and Moradabad.
Although no one in her family is a doctor, she wanted to become a doctor since childhood. To prepare for the medical entrance exams, Heena shifted to Lucknow and joined coaching institutes there. Finally, after two years, she got selected for the King George’s Medical College in Lucknow. Her father was proud of her and motivated her to follow her desired path. Heena got married during her internship and shifted to Udaipur with her husband in 1996. Life moved on and she had two kids in the following years.
In 1999, Heena joined the RNT Medical College, Udaipur as a Senior Demonstrator. At that time, she was struggling to accept Anatomy as her field of study and work. Later, she quit that job and started working at Maharana Pratap PG College and loved the experience. She felt at ease with teaching as it gave her ample time with her kids too. She started teaching with passion and to make the topic easy for the students to understand.
Heena believes that education shapes the personality of an individual and experience helps in seeking happiness.
When asked about her role models, Heena says her father has been her first role model whose hard work, honesty, and ‘living life king-size’ attitude inspired her. After marriage, her husband’s humble, down-to-earth, and calm nature inspired her.
If Heena gets a Time Machine, she would want to go back in the past and take care of her health to crack the pre-medicals in the first attempt.
The quote that motivates Heena is, ‘Sky is the limit’.
During her free time earlier, she used to do oil paintings. However, after marriage, her pastime activities changed to cooking, walking, singing, and listening to music.
Heena advises everyone to be happy, hopeful, and content with their life.
