Harshwardhan Singh Kelawat hails from the city of Udaipur, where he not only practices law but also serves as the District President of the Youth Congress.
He finished his law studies in 2014 and started practicing in the field in 2015. He chose this career because his father was also a lawyer. Inspired by his father, he felt that he could help people as a lawyer.
Harshwardhan says that the toughest moment in his life was the untimely demise of his father when he was just sixteen. But his mother shouldered the responsibilities of the family, taking care of her three children.
When asked about his role models, Harshwardhan says he looks up to Maharana Pratap. He learned an important lesson from Maharana Pratap: to never give up. Harshwardhan has taken this lesson to heart in his own life.
He shares that he has also had to face some tough times. In 2013, he took part in his first election but lost by about 10-12 votes. Then he tried again in the election for the Ward Councilor, but he lost again. In 2017, he stood for the state president election but was defeated once more. However, he didn't give up. He kept fighting and finally won the election to become the head of the Youth Congress in his district. This shows how he follows Maharana Pratap's advice to never give up, no matter how many times things don't work out.
Harshwardhan believes that everyone faces failures. But hard work pays off eventually.
In his free time, Harshwardhan finds solace in the company of his loved ones, spending quality time with friends and family. He also enjoys spending time at the ‘akhada’, where he practices the traditional sport of wrestling and relaxes. Additionally, he finds spiritual nourishment by visiting temples and reading about people who've made a big impact in history.
If he could travel back in time in a time machine, he would choose to spend more time with his father, whom he lost when he was young. He would also like to revisit the times when he used to practice wrestling and work on improving his skills to win medals.
Talking about politics, he shares that it's not an easy journey. He says it takes a lot of patience and hard work. He recommends bringing a helping attitude to politics. He also thinks having an alternative job to support your family is important. Harshwardhan believes in raising your voice against wrong things.
