Professor Dr. Harshita Shrimali currently serves as the Head of the Department of Management Studies at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur.

Her familial roots trace back to a village in Rajsamand, yet she was born and raised in Udaipur. Her formative education took place at Alok Senior Secondary School, Udaipur.

Recalling her childhood, Harshita recounts her active involvement in various extracurricular activities, such as debates, extempore speaking, dance, and more, during her school days. She fondly recalls engaging in sports during the zero period, allocating time equally to academics, music, and art, which facilitated her holistic development.

Following her passing the 12th grade, she attempted the Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT) but narrowly missed the cutoff by a few marks. Subsequently, she decided to pursue a professional degree and shifted her focus to the field of Management. She earned both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Management Studies, with a particular affinity for research.

Dr. Harshita expresses her enduring interest in social work, citing her involvement with the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) during her college days. She volunteered to teach and train children in slum areas, consistently demonstrating her commitment to assisting economically disadvantaged students.

Sharing about her challenges, she acknowledges encountering difficult times. She recognizes the tendency to become more rigid with age but emphasizes the importance of thinking diversely and empathizing with others' feelings.

When asked about her role models, she cites her late uncle, Prof. Vijay Shrimali, as a significant influence who motivated her to pursue a career in teaching.

Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Dr. Harshita asserts that higher education fosters broad-mindedness and knowledge. She views education as a continuous process of staying informed about global trends and advancements. She distinguishes between education, which is obtained formally, and experience, which can be gained informally at any point in life.

Addressing the youth, she advises aspiring individuals to be hardworking, sincere, and disciplined. She underscores the importance of empathy, patience, and dedication in achieving one's goals, urging students to maintain consistency in their studies.

For those aspiring to become professors, she recommends acquiring in-depth knowledge and mastery over their subject to effectively convey concepts during teaching.

In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations.

Dr. Harshita’s life mantra encapsulates the idea that life is replete with struggles, but it should be lived to the fullest. She encourages embracing happiness and contributing to the happiness of others.
