Harshal Dilwali is the Director and CEO of Clarissa Group of Resorts.
Harshal was born and raised in Delhi. He is a B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and an MBA.
Talking about the formative years of his life, Harshal says that at school, besides studies, he would actively participate in extra-curricular activities. He was the Vice Head Boy of his school. He loved his school days, he says.
Harshal shares that he wanted to become an engineer initially but his family took to the Hospitality sector and owing to that he had to pursue Hotel Management.
Talking about his challenges, Harshal says that people often doubted his abilities and he was bullied at school. Besides, losing his grandfather was a big setback for him as he was very close to him. Further, sustaining during the Covid pandemic as a hotelier was a tough task for him.
Talking about Covid, Harshal says that the pandemic hit the hospitality sector adversely. He says during the pandemic running his hotel business seemed quite challenging. However, during the pandemic, he digitized his whole hotel business and also tried his best to keep the morale of his staff high. Besides, he read many books and learned new things during the pandemic.
Harshal considers his grandfather and father as his Role Models and sources of inspiration. Besides, Ratan Tata and Warren Buffet are his role models as well.
Harshal barely gets any free time owing to the nature of his profession. However, whenever he gets some free time, he likes to play the guitar, read about influential people, and do courses to upskill himself.
Talking about his achievements, Harshal says that he stood first in his bachelors and also got a gold medal in his MBA.
Harshal says that dreaming big, focusing on the goal, and working hard are essentials of living a successful life.
To aspiring entrepreneurs, Harshal advises them to have big goals in life and remain patient as things take time to fructify. Besides, he advises them to acquire relevant education and skills before taking to what they want to do.
