Believe in Karma; what you do will come back
Besides being a student, Harsh Thakkar is also a freelance Graphic Designer. He works freelance for six-seven companies. He plans and handles their social media and designs their stories, posts and content. Apart from this, he runs two youth run organisations, one of which is ‘Interact Model United Nations’ and the other one is ‘TEDx Golden Bridge’.
Harsh started his career at the age of fifteen from Japan. He went there for a year as a Youth Exchange Student, representing India, which gave him a whole different way of living life. He says that before going to Japan, he was an introverted person but he came back as a changed personality. Coming back, he got fascinated towards the concept of Interact Model United Nations and went on to pursue his career in that. Eventually, he established his own organisation called ‘Interact.mun’ in Gujarat. But he didn’t just stop there, he had to achieve more in life and that’s how TEDx got started in Bharuch, Gujarat.
Talking about his childhood, Harsh says that he was the beloved child of his house and had always got more than he asked for, so he never had to struggle much in life. In his childhood, he was an average student but he was always ahead in extracurricular activities. Growing up, he developed interest in academics too and took studies seriously. Currently, he is pursuing Mechatronics Engineering from NMIMS, Mumbai.
Harsh struggled in his life when he went to Japan for a year as he faced several difficulties there in terms of culture, language and other things. At a very young age he had to adapt with all the changes which he did well and came back as a better version of himself.
About his Covid pandemic experience, Harsh says that he did not even get time to sleep well as he devoted so much of his time to learning different things. He learned graphic designing during that time and even started TEDx. He made full use of that time and tried to excel in several fields.
According to Harsh, Experience matters the most. He thinks that Education is also necessary but you can’t just experience things by sitting at home or from books. He says that education can only guide you but to see the world, one has to explore things and that’s what experience does. It further helps to move forward in life.
When asked about role models, Harsh says that he takes his inspiration from whomever he can get. So he considers his parents, friends and everyone he meets as his role models for having some or other qualities in them which inspires him to move ahead in life.
If Harsh had a chance to go back in time, he would like to revisit Japan after learning the Japanese language so as to be able to communicate well with people.
Harsh advises everyone to be themselves and do good to every human being, to your surroundings, the environment and the planet.
