Hardik Kamothi is a CEO by profession. His story truly resonates with every middle-class guy who dreams of making his life better and works hard for making it happen.

Hardik was born and brought up in Dariyapur, the city centre of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He hails from a middle-class family which in spite of so many hardships in their lives never gave up on their dreams.

Talking about his childhood,  Hardik says that he had an ordinary upbringing. He used to live in a joint family. His parents, uncle, aunt and six of his siblings all of them would live under the same roof. He says that his house wasn’t that big and often it would be hard for them to accommodate. Since there wasn’t much space to study, so all of his siblings would take turns to study. He had assigned himself a spot on the roof of his house to study. He would wake up early in the morning and study and after him his sibling would study in that same spot.

Taking a cue from his elder siblings, Hardik opted for science-maths in high school. He dreamed of becoming a software engineer. Hardik says that he would walk to the bus station to go to his tuition classes so that he could save some money. He worked the hardest in his high school examinations but couldn’t score as much as he wanted. And it was a setback for him. Though his family was happy with his scores because they knew that he worked as hard as he could. However, he scored fair enough to get a birth in a state government engineering college that too in his favorite branch, computer science.

Hardik says that during his college days, he worked as hard as he could to make up for his past failure. He worked the hardest and topped his college and also got a rank in his university. Hardik says that his college was relatively new so it was hard for him to get a good campus placement. So he started applying for the jobs directly at the companies in Ahmedabad itself. And he landed a job though the remuneration wasn’t as high as he thought he deserved. But he started doing his job thinking starting small wouldn’t deter him from climbing higher.

He says that after his job, he, along with his elder cousin, would do freelancing projects at night. Gradually he started earning more than what he was earning from his full-time job. After working for a couple of years, in 2015 he got a good hike in his corporate career. He even bought a flat with his savings and with some contribution from his father’s retirement corpus. Thus he got his dream house.

Hardik is continually making progress in his life. He never stops dreaming and keeps on working hard to improve his and his family’s life-style.

Hardik says living with family is important. It gives you motivation to keep going ahead in life.

On weekends Hardik enjoys his time with his elder cousin and his family. He does activities to relieve himself from the stress of weekdays so that he can start afresh in the week that follows.
