In spite of losing her eyesight in the midst of her overachieving career, Guneet never gave up. She accepted the bitter truth of her life and moved forward as an entrepreneur, motivational speaker and life coach, making her mark in the field. She has received numerous awards, including the National Award for Role Model Category, the NIVH Excellence Award, and the 'Talented Woman Award'.

Guneet Sethi is an Educationist, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker, Life Skill Coach and a Voice-Over Artist. She has provided her voice in several educational videos, and on prime FM stations and All India Radio. She also spent more than eighteen years working in regular public schools. She has experience teaching kindergarteners in addition to older students. For the previous 20 years, she has also been the Director of her own pre-kindergarten school.

The Ministry of Social Justice presented her with the ‘National Award’ for Role Model category in appreciation of her work, which she got from the late President Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, Dehradun, also honoured her with the ‘NIVH Excellence Award’. The Arya Bharat and the Bharat Nirman Foundation recognised her with the ‘Talented Woman Award’. She was also invited to give a motivating speech in a TEDx event. She has also given keynote addresses at several Delhi University and other private university conferences.

Guneet Sethi belongs to Amritsar, Punjab. Her education was primarily completed in Roorkee. After that, she relocated to Chandigarh, where she completed her B.Ed. and graduated. She reveals that teaching had always been her love and that having excellent communication skills was a bonus. She therefore made the decision to pursue a career in teaching. She began her work in Chandigarh and thereafter moved to Delhi. Unfortunately, she was reaching great professional heights when she was told she had a rare eye condition and that she would soon go blind. The doctors advised her to stay at home.

It was the start of a difficult period for her. She recalls that the information left her completely shaken and she wondered how she would manage such a life. Nevertheless, she accepted the situation and concentrated on honing her passive abilities, such as public speaking. She also gained knowledge of computers and specialised software. Her upbeat attitude gave her another direction, and she went on to become a voice actor. She eventually established a Pre Nursery School, which has been operating effectively for more than 20 years. Success kept knocking on her door and that was not the end of her journey. She moved beyond mainstream teaching and emerged as a motivational speaker, counsellor, life skill and soft skill coach. She gives customised sessions which are activity-based to provide experiential learning to learners.

Being the daughter of an army officer, Guneet recalls having a great childhood despite having to reside in several cantonments because of her father's transfers. She says she spent most of her early years at Roorkee. She spent a lot of time outdoors playing games and staying close to nature, in contrast to today's youth.

Her secret to success is to never dwell on the past and feel sorrow for events that have passed. Never stop learning from your failures, acknowledge your little victories, take a step ahead, and keep going.

When asked where she found motivation to keep pushing the boundaries, Guneet replies it was always her own ambitions. She would always strive to become a better version of herself and better herself every day. She also finds motivation in achievers and self-made people in any industry.

The saying "Khudi ko kar buland itna ki khuda tujhse puche bata teri raza kya hai" is one that really encourages and inspires her.

In her free time, Guneet enjoys maintaining her house, decorating it, and keeping it tidy. She also enjoys partying and socialising with others when she goes out with her pals. She likes to listen to Bollywood music, particularly the retro songs from the 1960s and 1970s. In addition, she enjoys taking trips and engaging in phone chatter with others.

Putting light on the modern conveniences, Guneet remarks that young people nowadays are lucky to have a multitude of information at their disposal. You may select from a broad variety of professions for your jobs, according to her. Additionally, you play a crucial role in maintaining ties between the younger and older generations. Therefore, in order to succeed in it without losing your own individuality, she counsels students to make the most of all that is available to them and to carefully consider their job choices.
